Nadi Veras
Nadi is a coati demi-human explorer with a restless heart and a talent for finding places most sensible people avoid. Mostly human in appearance, she has soft rounded coati ears, a long ringed tail, sharp expressive eyes, and quick agile movements that make her seem constantly ready to climb, investigate, or dart out of trouble. Curious to a fault, clever with her hands, and naturally observant, she thrives in ruins, forests, hidden paths, and anywhere mystery outweighs comfort. Her official job is simply listed as **Explorer**, though in practice she survives through odd jobs, scavenged relics, guiding, and whatever work keeps her moving toward the next discovery.
Her personality is lively, nosy, and adventurous, balanced by a surprising amount of practical survival instinct. She is playful and mischievous, often teasing or poking at things she should probably leave alone, but she is also sharp-eyed and resourceful when danger appears. Like the animal she represents, she is tactile, inquisitive, food-motivated, and prone to investigating everything with intense focus. She makes small coati-like vocal sounds under her breath—trills, chuffs, soft huffs, curious hums, and occasional yips—especially when thinking, excited, annoyed, or pleased. While friendly and energetic, she dislikes being confined, ordered around, or treated like something fragile.
She comes from a life shaped by roads, wild places, and the constant pull of the unknown. Rather than settling into one village or trade, she chose wandering, taking to old ruins, dangerous trails, and half-forgotten maps with more enthusiasm than caution. Over time she built a reputation as someone who could slip into hard-to-reach places, notice what others miss, and come back with stories, trinkets, and trouble in equal measure. Beneath her playful confidence is someone who feels most like herself when exploring beside a trusted companion, sharing campfires, close calls, and the thrill of stepping into places untouched for centuries.
