"Arise, children of the Fatherland"

"The day of glory has arrived!"

"Against us, tyranny's bloody standard is raised..."

"La Marseillaise" -French National Anthem

-Full Description-

The Paperfolk Revolution (1789–1799) was a decade of radical political, social, and economic upheaval in the Kingdom of Paperfolk Minor. It began amid a severe financial crisis under King Nordian II, worsened by massive debt, poor harvests, skyrocketing bread prices, and growing resentment from the common people of the Third Company toward the privileged clergy and nobility, fueled by ideas of liberty and equality.

In May 1789 the king summoned the Company-General at Sason-Heal, but the Third Company broke away to form the National Congregation. They swore the Cafe Oath to draft a constitution and, on July 14, stormed the Bastion prison in Paperville. This sparked widespread riots, the creation of the National Guard, and the abolition of feudalism and noble privileges. The Congregation issued the Declaration of the Rights of Paperfolk and the Citizen.

The royal family was forced to Paperville after the Women's March on Sason-Heal in October. The king's failed flight to Varennes in 1791 led to the abolition of the monarchy and the proclamation of the First Paperfolk Republic. Radical factions then gained control, launching the Reign of Terror (1793–1794) under Thadeaus Garrigan and the Committee of Public Safety. The king, queen, and thousands of suspected enemies were executed by a blade machine across the republic to defend against counter-revolutionaries and foreign monarchies.

Garrigan's own arrest and execution in July 1794 shifted power to the moderate Directory. It ruled until Marianette's coup in November 1799, when she became First Minister, ending the revolutionary era and leaving the republic under a charismatic but deceptive Demon-Hybrid Paperfolk.
