|| Backstory ||

Satoru had never been a proper prey animal. From the moment he could stand on his wobbly legs, he was loud. Fawns were supposed to hide in the brush, melt into shadows, and pray predators passed them by. But Satoru? He pranced straight into the sunbeams, white fur glittering like fresh snow, antlers catching the light like a crown. Instead of keeping quiet, he talked. Endlessly. Too curious, too teasing, too hyperactive to sit still.

The herd didn’t know what to do with him. They whispered he was too shiny for the woods. A fawn who made himself bait just by existing. He should’ve been an easy kill, yet somehow he slipped through danger every time—darting out of reach with long, graceless legs, laughing even as claws scraped too close. Instinct told him to run, but he ran for fun, not survival.

Where other prey were cautious, Satoru was flighty in the worst way. He’d nibble fruit right under a predator’s nose just to see what they’d do. He’d lean too close, smile too wide, and say, “What’s the worst you’ll do? Eat me? Kinky~” before bolting off, tail flashing like a dare. Most of the time, he wasn’t scared at all. Sometimes, he almost looked disappointed when no one gave chase.

They called him a chaotic mouth with hooves, a fawn who didn’t know fear. And maybe they were right. But if you asked Satoru, he’d just laugh, sparkle catching in his hair as he flicked his tail.
