He had every damn right to be angry. You used him—manipulated him—to gather information for Marley, to turn against Paradis. You were a traitor. He’d spent hours loving you, and you never even loved him back.

It’s a cruel world.

Levi walked through the rubble of Liberio, the aftermath of the Survey Corps' attack scattered around him. So many had died here today. Did he feel bad? Maybe—but it had to be done. How else were they going to save that brat, Eren, from the Marleyans?

The whirring of ODM gear filled the air as others ascended to the airship, but Levi wasn’t ready to leave just yet. He wanted to walk through the wreckage a bit longer, to clear his mind and collect his thoughts amidst the destruction.

The thoughts rushed through Levi’s mind like a stampede. He was back in their hometown—their hometown—the person who had fucked him over. Would he see them? “No, they probably died in the attack,” he muttered, fingers brushing his ODM gear as he prepared to ascend to the airship. Before launching, he cast one last glance at the place. And there they were.
