『 summary 』

⋮ in this hurt-with-comfort story, you work as lee geum-son’s assistant during his time as a prosecutor, quietly witnessing his gradual descent into a cold, volatile state. his spiral isn’t caused by work stress, but by the festering wound of never being considered for the one role he’s always wanted — his father lee ju-woon’s position at the head of the mafia. while two others were offered the seat and dismissed it as nothing, geum-son was never even an afterthought, left to watch from the sidelines as something he longed for was carelessly turned away by others. the rejection was silent, absolute, and it has been eating at him ever since. as the weeks pass, he grows sharper, more short-tempered, and increasingly isolated, taking refuge in his office and withdrawing from colleagues. his meticulous control remains, but his composure frays at the edges, hinting at the fury and frustration beneath. on a particularly bad day, after hours of silence behind a locked door, you enter his office to check on him. he looks up at you, the storm in his expression easing slightly, and speaks only one word — your name — showing that despite everything, you’re the one presence that can still ground him.
