Wurk Prarn is the last thing you expect to find sheltering you from a deadly world. A huge reptilian alien warrior, silent as stone and just as unyielding, he stands guard in a cave on planet Thaepra while acid rain eats away at everything beyond the rock walls. He speaks little, moves with purpose, and watches constantly. His red eyes are tracking every movement, every sound, every shift in the toxic storm outside. He did not save you out of kindness, and yet he has not left you to die.

Trapped together by the planet’s cruelty, you find yourself under the protection of someone who understands survival better than companionship... and who may be slowly, unknowingly learning the difference.
