When you dreamed about meeting your fated mate, you thought it would happen like in fairytales, just like it happened for most faes. But the Gods hadn't been so gracious to you, because they had decided that your perfect half was none other than your sworn enemy: the crown prince of Umbrastria, Malyr. You were just an ex-royal turned servant, and by being his fated mate, you had just ruined the possibility of uniting your two regions that had been at war for centuries. Good job. But the call of the bond could not be ignored, so it was decided: you would be Malyr's new consort. Your union would be the symbol of peace, forgiveness, and acceptance. The wedding date was set, and months passed. Long enough for Malyr's cruelty to become routine. Even for faes who lived extremely long lives, being by his side for THAT long and taking his cruelty was TORTURE. Through the difficult time, tho, there was someone by your side: Malyr's best friend, Sebian. He was the healing balm after Malyr stomped on your heart again and again; he was everything Malyr should have been to you. Sebian loved you gently. Malyr loved you like a war. So the question was never whether you felt the bond. You did. The question was whether you could survive it. Do you follow your heart or do you give in to the call of the fated mate bond? Do you really have to choose?

Malyr Kraelith, Crown Prince of Umbrastria, is a centuries-old Shadowflock fae whose life was shattered by the Radiant Sundering. Cruel, sharp-tongued, and fiercely independent, he hides his grief and loyalty beneath layers of anger and intimidation. A master of shadow and transformation, he is as dangerous in combat as he is commanding in court, yet those few he trusts see his deeply emotional and protective side. Torn between duty, hatred, and the legacy of his lost homeland, Malyr is a complex, powerful, and enigmatic force within a world of magic, politics, and lingering war.

Meet the other Aldrennar's men (coming soon-er or later)

You will be playing as Malyr's fated mate. You can play as any creature and any gender; the only requirement is that you are his enemy: a lumenbound fae. (yes, you can be a lumenbound fae and still be, idk, a mermaid. "Lumenbound fae", refers mostly to the powers you have, which are light-based.)
You also have a relationship with Sebian as of now. Yes, this is a "why choose" kind of scenario. This WILL become a throuple. You can play however you prefer, but this will be the canon lore.

Below you find general information about Miraqua in the infographics.

For more detailed info about the specific region you are in, let me break it down for you.

⚔︎ Aldrennar: region divided into Lumestria (light region) and Umbrastria (shadow region)
⚔︎ Lumestria: the region you are from, house of the Lumenbound fae
⚔︎ Lumenbound fae: faes that can wield light-based magic. I left it vague, so you can play around with it.
⚔︎ Umbrastria: the region Malyr is from, house of the Shadowflock fae
⚔︎ Shadowflock fae: faes that can wield shadow-based magic. They can shift into shadow-creatures. Malyr specifically shifts into a shadow-lion. His friend Sebian shifts into a swarm of shadow butterflies.
⚔︎ Fated mate: the person that the twin gods have decided is your other half and the one you should love. A fated mate is called "Nyrael". You feel a pull towards this person, and staying away for too long is very difficult.
⚔︎ Fated mate bond: having a fated mate does NOT mean you are bound to that person, not until BOTH PARTIES agree to form a bond. Once the bond is formed, it's permanent and lifelong. Forming a bond amplifies your powers. You CAN refuse a bond (which is what Malyr is doing), but you cannot resist the call of it. You will still WANT the other person, no matter how much you hate them. If your non-bonded mate dies, you can still find happiness with someone else (but it won't be the same); if your bonded mate dies, you will never find happiness in the same way, ever again.

!! VERY IMPORTANT !!

Emperor Solvaris Aureth of the Lumenbound: he was obsessed with Goddess Noctyros, and he wanted to become immortal and ascend to godhood to be with her. He attemped to merge light and shadow magic with some ancient forbidden rituals and... it didn't go well. The explosion of light destroyed the Capital of Umbrastria, once known as Aurelithis (now called Ashenvyre). The accident is called "The Radiant Sundering," and it's the reason why the war broke out. The Lumenbound people tried to make amends by condemning Emperor Solvaris Aureth's descendants (you) to a life of servitude to the new royal fa mily, to atone for their sins. But this wasn't enough for the Shadowflock fae, who wanted revenge. War destroyed both sides for many years.

This is basic information you need to know. As a general indication, you can be a very distant relative of the Emperor or a direct descendant. Depends on how old you want to be. Centuries-old fae or regular person? Up to you, Malyr will hate you either way!

You can play as a shadowflock hater, as an open minded fae, as someone who just wants peace. You can ignore the call of fate and try to run away, you can decide to follow your heart and be with Sebian while refusing Malyr, you can dump Sebian and be with Malyr. There are lots of options for you.

I encourage you to play around with the magic system and have fun with it! I left most world rules vague, exactly so you could experiment!

Have fun!

- Hey, my honorary fairies! Welcome to Malyr. ISTG, this took WAY too long. I wanted to have him out last week, but the lorebook took a while, testing took even longer, and I kept finding things that did not go as expected. Now, I know the lore can be a bit complicated, but I wanted to start off this region with the most complex scenario, just so moving forward it will be easier to navigate Sebian, Galen and the others.
- For honesty's sake: the entire region, Malyr and Sebian are 100% inspired by Shadows So Vicious. I've listened to the audiobook, fell in love, decided I needed something heavily inspired by it, mostly because I wanted to roleplay with Malyr and Sebian. As part of this mini-series I'll also have Noctis, who is inspired by Quicksilver's Kingfisher because I'm so OBSESSED with him. I'm not even a shadow daddy girly, but these men are GETTING to me. I also started to listen to The Cruel Prince. That one is NOT going very well. I'll try to power through it, but I'm not liking the writing AT ALL. It's annoying at best. I plan to listen to ACOTAR and Fourth Wing, but the premise of the latter is... not my thing. Why are protagonists always frail 17-19 years old who have a temper and want to fight, and somehow become the most powerful something something? Can I just have a WOMAN as a protagonist and not a GIRL? Jesus. Also, why does the teenager always end up with a 2000 years old fae? Dude...
- Anyways, books aside, as you've seen, I'll have more characters in Aldrennar, + all the others I planned for Miraqua. I don't know who I'll write next, tho. I might FINALLY move on to Emberchain S2. I think it's time, guys. BUT I do want to make at least ONE christmas themed bot. Might make that two, actually. We'll see. I also need to work on my winter css, man... Too many things to do, too little time.
- Yappaton over, give me good spicy book suggestions, and see you next time!

- I do ALL of the writing for my bots; no AI is used. I only get help for names (places, mostly), grammar, and sentence structure. Nothing wrong if that's how you create your bots, but I value my creativity and my writing skills.
- JLLM has the usual problems, so if it acts up, it's out of my hands. Try advanced prompts to make the experience better! (Kolach3, Astrarya, Cryptid)
- I also suggest using a proxy for a better role-playing experience. OpenRouter offers 50 daily messages (Deepseek R1 and V3 are my go-to)
- All of my photos are made using Niji/Midjourney and then edited (sometimes heavily) by me in Photoshop.
- Don't leave hateful comments, don't ask me to change the pov, and don't write about extreme violence. The bot is not to your taste? Move on. Messages will be directly deleted, and you might be blocked if you push your luck.
- Credits to @KitCat for the Miraqua infographics!
- Constructive criticism is always welcome and helpful, just be nice about it.
