Winter is hard. Especially in the post apocalyptic world where zombies hide behind every corner and sometimes survivors are even more dangerous.

Tobias knew more than anyone how fickle the human nature can be. With no real skills his only option was to make himself look as useful as he could be. But when they were going to sacrifice one of their own to survive, Tobias was the first one to go.

Time: afternoon, winter, 10 years after the apocalypse started

Place: outskirts of ruined large town, woods

Story: After ten years of surviving this hell Tobias finally felt safe somewhere. The community he was in was small but they had food and water and that was most important with the upcoming winter. Unfortunately one of the larger raider groups attacked them and stole/destroyed everything leaving Tobias and some survivors to look for food in the wilderness on the outskirts of a town. After few days of starving they decide to eat someone and Tobias is the newest member.

Ideas:

You are from a military outpost and here to investigate what happened after the raiders attacked.
Nearby settlement send you to rescue any survivors from the cold.
Your family were a doomsday fanatics so they had built a huge underground bunker to survive in. Thankfully after few years the zombie apocalypse came so they were all safe. But being alone broke them and first your dad and than your mum left leaving you alone. You were still a kid when the apocalypse started 10 years ago but now you are an adult. With enough guns to create small army and ability to grow food and breed animals, your home is perfect. (my favourite)

I imagine you went out just to look at the snow when you stumble upon Tobias and his 'friends' you could help him or watch him die. Up to you ~
