I decided to move my ranking for the Umamusume Anime’s and Films to this bot due to wanting to know if my ranking’s are valid. I want to also know how you guys would rank the anime’s and films or which Uma’s are your favorites! This was done for fun and I DID not regret a single second of being able to watch this series.

UMAMUSUME PRETTY DERBY SEASON 1

In my opinion, I think Special Week did her role well as the starting protagonist for the beginning of Umamusume. I fell in love with the show due to Silence Suzuka (MY QUEEN!) and I thought it was really sweet watching Special Week idolize Suzuka and wanting to race against her. Also, I really loved the characters in Team Spica a lot, I felt like this season each character had the best amount of moments and screen time too. It definitely does feel outdated though and It can definitely use a remake with elements from the Cinderella Gray series and the films.

UMAMUSUME PRETTY DERBY SEASON 2

Holy Fucking Shit! I did not expect myself to fall in love with Tokai Teio after the first season, but here we are. This season is definitely an upgrade compared to the previous and Teio is overall a WAY better protagonist compared to Special Week. My poor girl endured three fractures but she won the Arima Kinen against Hayahide! (I fucking cried man). Although, I think season one gives the best amount of spotlight for each member of Team Spica, this season just does everything else way better and Teio’s and McQueen’s rivalry felt real compared to Suzuka and Special Week. (Also, Spica’s Trainer was so awesome in this season. I think he’s still my favorite trainer due to how hard he worked on helping Teio out while she had a fracture and how he felt greedy for wanting her to race again). The supporting characters for this season were the best too! Rice Shower (My Poor Baby), Bourbon, Twin Turbo, and Nice Nature were all so goated.

UMAMUSUME PRETTY DERBY SEASON 3

I apologize for this ranking, but I’ll get my main complaint out the way- Other then Gold Ship, Team Spica was sidelined so fucking badly this season and they just stood and watched Kitasan Black train and race. The whole time, I’m just left here thinking- WTF DO THEY EVEN DO! (Nice Nature felt more relevant compared to Team Spica in this season). I love Kitasan Black, but she just wasn’t on the same level as Teio and her rivalry with Satono Diamond wasn’t as good as Teio and McQueen. Now that I got that out my chest- The animation for this season was the best for Pretty Derby anime, this season has my favorite opening too (Soshite Minna No), Kitasan Black retiring was unexpected, but they executed it pretty well, and watching Kitasan train with Bourbon and Rice Shower was a treat. I wanna know if there’s people that prefer this season over season 2, because I genuinely wanna know the reasons why.

UMAMUSUME CINDERELLA GRAY COUR 1

THIS IS SO FUCKING PEAK. The vibe and intro music are different compared to Pretty Derby. BUT I CAN’T LIE AND SAY IT’S BETTER! THE RACING IS SO MUCH MORE INTENSE TOO AND THE CONCEPT OF SPURTS AND THE ZONE FOR THIS SEASON IS SO FUCKING GENIUS! It felt more Shonen and that’s why I fucking loved it! Oguri Cap is my fucking goat for life! It’s honestly scary how serious she gets for racing but she deserves all the food she wants! Tamamo Cross is the perfect blend of cuteness and arrogance, I fell in love with her too and her using the White Lighting was hella sick. Kitahara’s bond with Oguri Cap was so wholesome and he’d easily be my favorite trainer, but he just needs more screen time as a trainer. I don’t hear much about Belno Light, but she’s so awesome as a support character. The animation for this season is definitely an upgrade compared to everything that came before and the opening (Koeru) is the best! (It’s debatable between this one or Soshite Minna No for being my fav). It’s actually insane how drastically different this is compared to the first season of Pretty Derby, like it doesn’t feel like it’s from the same series.

UMAMUSUME CINDERELLA GRAY COUR 2

LITERALLY THE ONLY REASON THIS HAS A 0.1 LESS SCORE COMPARED TO THE PREVIOUS COUR IS BECAUSE IT WAS SHORTER. THAT’S IT! Everything I said about Cour 1 is the same for this season and we get introduced to one of the most unique Uma’s- that being Obey Your Master. Her design is top 2 of all time for me and the personality switch caught me off guard too during the Japan Cup. This season has my favorite race of all time and it’s when Oguri Cap finally unlocked the zone and beat Tamamo Cross. Belno Light figuring out a way to help Oguri Cap run the hill more faster has made her one of the best supporting characters of all time. I have a minor complaint though- and it’s for the final episode, it being focused on Inari One felt sudden and out of place, but it’s something I can look past and It’ll definitely be major for the next season. Overall, It’s just so fucking peak!

UMAMUSUME: PRETTY DERBY ROAD TO THE TOP

It’s crazy how much Special Week gets flamed for being basic, but I felt Narita Top Road was less memorable...I’m so sorry, but I just have to be honest with myself and I still love her, but she has to be my least favorite protagonist in Umamusume. I loved everything else, well...other than that weird sub plot with Ayabe since it was so bizarre, but I loved the conclusion for it, it was cute. TM Opera O and Meisho Doto were so fun together and I never realized how much I needed moments with Rice Shower and Haru Urara together. I love how smooth and colorful the art style was for the film too and I’m glad Narita Top Road finally won at the end when she felt like she wasn’t living up to the expectations of her friends and fans. A good watch, but nothing too crazy.

UMAMUSUME: PRETTY DERBY BEGINNING OF A NEW ERA

JUNGLE POCKET MOGS THE OUT OF NARITA TOP ROAD! It’s so crazy to me that Narita Top Road gets sidelined in this film (like she wasn’t the main character for the previous movie and TM Opera took the spotlight this time around against her). I instantly fell in love with Jungle Pocket due to her being a tomboy and even though she took the spotlight from Tachyon, she felt like she could never truly be number one, since she never beat Tachyon. Speaking of which, the star of this film is Agnes Tachyon and she is so fucking crazy and I love it. Her presence was definitely strong and her style of running is insane with her pushing her body to the absolute limit to win. The animation is definitely the best here, the conclusion was so powerful with Agnes Tachyon going back to racing after watching Jungle Pocket beat Tm Opera O, and I loved a lot of the visuals in this film like when Jungle Pocket’s vision turned all bright red when she sees Tachyon or when Tachyon used the zone. I’m praying for a Pretty Derby season with Agnes Tachyon or Jungle Pocket as the main focus. 🙏
