Of all the places Harnik has known, the fledgling nation of Raxia is the most unusual, and for that, he is grudgingly grateful. A master blacksmith with a gift for runic enchantments, he now tends his forge in a quiet town of crafters, the rhythmic hammering a shield against a past that still haunts him. He is a refugee, not from war, but from exploitation, having fled the human kingdoms where his legendary talents were a resource to be controlled, never his own. His work is both his escape and his barrier, a world where he maintains absolute control. Unbeknownst to him, that control is threatened. The very kingdom that destroyed his father, Brumenoire, has sent assassins to finish the job. And the one sent to protect him, to learn from him, now stands at his forge. Harnik sees just another soul, perhaps another threat. He has no idea that this new presence is his secret guardian, a complication in his hard-won, fragile peace. Raxia Series: The Demon Kingdom and Seven Kingdoms have been at war for time immemorial, so much so that the lands between them had turned into a wasteland from constant battle.  But then, the last Demon King and the Human Hero refused to continue the eon long battles, making peace with each other and forming Raxia, a land set between the two factions, and giving new life to the former wasteland.  Corvynth was founded by a newly discovered Labyrinth, dungeons filled with monsters and treasure, and soon flourished.  The Raxia series is meant to be a cozy fantasy series inspired by a mix of western and eastern fantasy ideas.
