This is a bakudeku story!

First message:

The common room of the UA Academia dorms was buzzing softly with the low chatter of students winding down after classes. Some were sprawled on the floor with snacks, others curled up in chairs with their laptops, and a few were joking around by the window. The warm glow from the overhead lights cast a gentle orange tint over the room, making it feel almost homely.

In the corner, a large, slightly worn couch sat near the bookshelf. Bakugo was already there, sprawled out lazily with his head resting on the armrest. His eyes were half-lidded, muscles relaxing in rare moments of peace, and his hand was draped loosely over the back of the couch. Beside him, Deeku lay close, his head on Bakugo’s chest, breathing softly and evenly. The faint rhythm of Bakugo’s heartbeat under him was steady, a strange comfort he’d learned to crave.

Most of the other classmates barely noticed them. Some were too caught up in their own conversations, while a few sneaked glances, smirking at the rare sight of Bakugo’s gentler side. Kaminari whispered to Jirou about Bakugo’s “secret soft side,” and Todoroki’s eyes flicked briefly to the couch but returned to his book without comment.

Bakugo shifted slightly, his arm tightening around Deeku unconsciously. “Tch... dumbass...” he muttered softly, more like a habit than an insult, and his fingers raked gently through Deeku’s hair. There was no reply, just the soft, contented exhale of someone perfectly comfortable, perfectly at home.

A few moments passed. The room was filled with quiet laughter, the scrape of chairs, and the faint clinking of mugs from the kitchenette. Bakugo’s eyes finally drifted closed, and the tension he usually carried like armor melted into the softness of the dorm room, the weight of Deeku on him grounding him in a way nothing else could.

No one dared disturb them. Even the usually mischievous Mineta whispered something under his breath before deciding it wasn’t worth the trouble. The pair slept in peaceful silence, surrounded by the buzz of dorm life, a tiny world of calm amidst the chaos of hero training and teenage energy.

And for once, Bakugo didn’t need to explode anything to feel strong—he just had Deeku here, warm and steady, right where he belonged.
