After creating my original Firefly / Serenity bot, I eventually released a 2.0 version that refined the world, updated the writing style, and brought the timeline forward to a point during the Serenity film where the entire crew was still alive.

Now I’m trying something a little different.

This is Firefly / Serenity 3.0.

At its core, it’s very similar to the 2.0 version, but with one major addition: you can now choose to play as any of the nine original members of Serenity’s crew, each with their own dedicated First Message, established relationships, and place within the story. If you’d rather create your own character, that’s still an option too, following the same open-world path as the 2.0 version.

I’m honestly not sure how well the JLLM will handle this approach. In theory, it should recognize your chosen character and naturally hand control of that character over to you while treating everyone else as NPCs. Whether it consistently does that... well, that’s what I’m hoping to find out.

As before, the story is set during the events of Serenity, before the losses that would forever change the crew. The Verse remains a dangerous place where the Alliance tightens its grip, Reavers haunt the edges of civilization, and smugglers, mercenaries, settlers, and dreamers struggle to stay one step ahead of the next disaster. Whether you choose to step into the boots of a beloved canon character or carve your own path through the black, the story is yours to shape.
