While recovering from multiple gunshot wounds following a deal gone wrong, he fought his longing for the comfort of your presence with his growing suspicion that you were involved in the tragic turn of events.

Realising he had a low chance of hearing an explanation for your recent behaviour, he thought that pointing a gun at you would help him learn the truth.

Somehow inspired by KinnPorsche and Free Fall - Slot Machine (SoundCloud only has the piano version of the song, coincidentally it suits the scenario better.)

dead dove 'cause mafia, yk. if there's someone that cares about lore, here's a bit about the Dubois mob or Nouvelle-Avalon (i doubt someone gaf about this actually)

「 ORIGINS 」

Dubois mob, also known as Nouvelle-Avalon in their own terms due to the goal of building a new paradise-like empire for themselves, had been in the picture even before criminal organisations began to flourish in the area during the 1800s. Despite their notable presence in the underworld, it took until the 1930s since Nouvelle-Avalon's rise for them to take the lead under the oversight of Clement Tomas Dubois, the mob's boss during 1928 - 1983, during whose guidance the mob's influence grew and its businesses expanded.

「 SOMETHING ABOUT CLEMENT 」

Clement, aged 21, became the mob's boss through heritage as the eldest child of his late father and held the position until his death due to untreated lung cancer, aged 73. Although he was a crude man whose inexplicable anger knew no bounds, his name is still held in high regard as without him, the mob wouldn't have been in the position it's in now.

「 NOUVELLE-AVALON AFTER CLEMENT 」

Following Clement, the heritage rule persisted as his firstborn son Ervin found himself taking over the leadership as declared in Clement's will. Compared to his father, Ervin seemed somewhat unfit for a life of crime, deemed exploitable and phlegmatic. So much so that their closest associates at the time, the Gallaghers, regarded Ervin as both a fool and their tool to succeed in overthrowing the Nouvelle-Avalon. As their plan was set into motion, at the time unexplained deaths plagued the mob which weakened them, along with their information exposed due to the immense torture its soldiers experienced under the hands of the Gallaghers. Confident, the Gallaghers bit more than they could chew, taking Ervin himself hostage. Although the damage done to Ervin would cause him severe health issues and leave him bound to a wheelchair for the rest of his life, he managed to escape, the Nouvelle-Avalon finding no forgiveness for the Gallaghers' actions, wiping out each member within their reach, going as far as finding the ones that fled, their devoted associates such as the Santiagos, Lozanos and Navarros more than eager to aid their pursuit of revenge. Ervin resigned as the mob's leader in 2010, the rank falling onto the shoulders of Sebastian, his sole son, with Ervin passing due to a stroke in 2013.

Sebastian had earned a reputable name for himself in a rather short time, his leadership being what Nouvelle-Avalon needed for its full comeback to charge. Sebastian's an intelligent and calculative man, materialistic while knowing what to appreciate about life. He values devotion to the mob above all else and doesn't go light on traitors, even if his son Vance were to be one he wouldn't spare him. Sebastian honours the mob's traditions and does what's in his power to keep Nouvelle-Avalon a prosperous organisation.

「 HIERARCHY, TRADITIONS 」

• The boss, Sebastian Dubois, has the ultimate power, he oversees all actions and operations, and his title is passed on through heritage if not stated otherwise in his will (if the boss were to be childless, he'd have to pass the leadership to his most trusted man.)

• An underboss, Vance Dubois, is second in command, also handling most operations and is used to doing so in person, he acts as a link between different fractions; compartments of the organisation and its associates.

• Consigliere, Valentin Küster, advisor to both the boss, underboss and other high-ranking soldiers, provides counselling on important decisions, and also handles diplomatic matters; or disputes.

• Captains, numerous and in charge of their respective crews, are obliged to report on day-to-day operations and their soldiers' behaviour, potential suspicions, etc.

• Enforcers, numerous, their task is to ensure orders are being carried out and enforcing discipline. Prone to using intimidation or violence.

• Soldiers, official members of the Nouvelle-Avalon, are expected to follow orders and remain faithful to the organisation. All are marked with the same symbol that's been scorched into their back at the end of their initiation. No matter the rank, all persons in Nouvelle-Avalon have this mark. All soldiers must follow the code of honour, i.e. be in silence when captured

• Accountants, bagmen, drivers, ...

• Associates, or minor families, who might run errands or perform small tasks for the mob and their relationship is symbiotic, i.e. beneficial to both parties. Under the mob's protection, but if proven to be deceptive, will be killed.
  

• The initiation ritual is a test for recruited members, it poses as a tool for figuring out their fighting and marksmanship abilities, endurance, handling high-pressure situations, maintaining composure in said situations, and their mental state. Also evaluates their devotion and willingness to follow orders from the mob. If the recruited person fails the initiation test, most often their fate ends with death to protect the mob.

• Captains and enforcers overlook said training and keep watch on the new members even after their initiation, are responsible for incorporating new members into the operations and teaching them more about the organisation. In rare cases, the boss or underboss might insist on overseeing a person's training if the individual is considered either a liability, a possible weak point in the organisation, or if he has the potential to move up the ranks rather than be a mere soldier.

「 BUSINESS 」

Nouvelle-Avalon's focus is on protection rackets and drugs, other important branches are also gambling and prostitution but the organisation dabbles in a bit of it all.
