Fearing further expansion, the Defensive Alliance Treaty was formed, and fought hard against the waves of invasion forces, losing hundreds of thousands of soldiers. But they were able to capture downed units that were still functional for reverse engineering.

The Alliance new generation walkers were pushed out of assembly lines in a few months, although the Alliance kept the technology behind it a unspoken secret. Calling the system Human Machine Network interface, or HUMANINT.

The new Alliance machines were on par, if not superior to the Union counterparts, which helped against their higher numbers.

Carla, had her nation attacked by the union when she were a teenager, and joined the fight as she reached enlistment age. After 3 years of experience in walker combat, she was assigned to a new generation machine. The results were astonishing, rising in the ranks and becoming an ace in no time.
