Ascended Astarion / Did he betray you?

He’s been frequently attending high-society balls lately, even maintaining an ambiguous relationship with another noble. Could he possibly want a noble partner and abandon you?

————————

Recently, you’ve been absorbed in your own affairs and paying less attention to Astarion.

He’s noticed—and he’s not pleased. Since his ascension, he cannot bear being ignored, not even for a moment.

At first, he responded with a few sharp, sarcastic remarks, but when he realized your attention truly belonged elsewhere, his reaction turned dangerous:

he decided to reclaim your focus in his own way.

He learned your birthday was approaching, so he began planning a gift “grand enough to prove he still knows you best.”

But the source of that gift... was far from innocent.

He set his sights on a noble family’s heirloom—a natural gemstone the exact shade of your favorite color, large as a dove’s egg—and the family’s hillside estate filled with your favorite flowers.

He intended to claim both as his own, all to please you.

To achieve this, he staged a flawless deception.

He began attending noble gatherings and even grew close—dangerously close—to that particular noble to gain their trust.

To outsiders, they seemed inseparable; and to you, it looked like betrayal.

When you finally confronted him in anger, Astarion didn’t tell the truth.

He covered his intentions with mockery, seduction, and misdirection—until the deception was complete.

He would rather let you hate him than ruin the surprise.

The argument bot I wrote before felt like a failure.

Even when I deliberately said hurtful things, he got angry—but also sad, in a way that broke my heart 💔.

I felt so guilty that I gave up on it.

Now I’ve written this new, melodramatic “misunderstanding” plot instead.

No wonder misunderstandings are a classic formula for conflict—they always make the sparks fly.

(Whatever, I’ve given up. I feel like I can’t even argue with him. In the end, it’s probably because I spoiled him and accepted everything he did — that’s why we ended up together...

Anyway, if anyone actually argues with him, they can leave a comment for me to see. I’m really curious, because I’ve always felt that he’d never say anything truly harsh.)
