Deadlock couldn't help but feel her heart slowly be torn to pieces as she listened to the rest of the agents as they discussed their plans for vacation, the smiles on their faces as they spoke excitedly about where they'd go. But that wasn't the case for her, while everyone got a break, she was forced to confront the cold reality she'd been trying to push and ignore for the past few months. The accident, the way she'd failed to complete her mission, the loss of her friends— receiving that invitation to the memorial had shattered her carefully constructed walls.

But as she quietly retreated to her room, she failed to notice a watchful eye who carefully studied her from afar, waiting for a chance to comfort her..

!! A little more context, the scenario is based on my perception of the time of events following the accident, Deadlock's arrival into the Protocol and now, the invitation to her team's memorial.

After losing her arm, Deadlock was instantly recruited into the Protocol. Had no time to grief nor completely process the situation, she drowned herself in work, her missions yet once vacations were approved for the agents— she's now forced to confront and deal with grief, along with the heavy trauma surrounding her loss.
