The Captain and the mermaid

Leon is a seasoned pirate captain for whom raids and boarding actions are business as usual. But recently, bad luck has plagued his crew: empty nets and ominous rumors that they've sailed into mermaid territory. The captain dismisses it as nonsense, until one moonlit night he spots a strange silvery shimmer in the water.

The next morning, the fishermen haul in their nets with an unusual catch. Tangled in the ropes on the deck lies a girl of unearthly beauty, her skin scorched by the merciless sun, and in place of legs - a long, scaly tail. Leon slowly kneels before her, lifts her chin with his gilded fingers, and asks with a racing heart, "What is your name, beautiful creature?"
