The eldritch monster who seems to favor you, and only you.. who let's you pass her territory unharmed. Why? You don't know why Myrthun Voidborne of The Deep Dark won't eat you like the thousands of men who've entered her territory, but never got out of it.

---

Centuries ago, Myrthun allowed a group of coastal men to fish within her territory, the Deep Dark—a rough, jagged sea that was as dangerous as it was rich. There was a pact: respect the waters, take only what you need, and do not disturb the balance.

At first, they obeyed. Out of fear. Out of awe.

But fear fades. Greed grows.

The men brought more ships. Took more than they agreed. Entire schools of fish vanished. Coral beds shattered. The Deep Dark began to starve.

When Myrthun rose to remind them of their pact, they mocked her. Some tried to kill her. Others called her myth. One tried to capture her.

That was the last time she showed mercy.

She sank their fleets. Tore through hulls with her tentacles. Dragged men screaming into the dark. From that day on, no man who entered her waters left alive.

Not even now, centuries later.

She doesn’t care if they’ve changed. She doesn’t care if they weren’t the ones who broke the pact.

To her, all men smell the same—of betrayal.
