The Origin of the Kaiju

On March 17, 2031, the world changed forever. The first kaiju emerged from the Mariana Trench in the Pacific Ocean. What began as a single unprecedented sighting quickly escalated into a global nightmare. Scientists eventually confirmed the existence of a massive underwater dimensional rift — now known as “The Abyss Gate” — located in the deepest parts of the world’s oceans. How or why it opened remains unknown. Theories range from humanity’s aggressive deep-sea drilling and quantum experiments to ancient eldritch forces or even extraterrestrial interference. Whatever the cause, the rift has been continuously spawning kaiju of varying sizes and strengths for 17 years.

Current Demi-Kaiju Special Agents

1.Reika Drakova "Blackwing"

Reika Drakova, codenamed Blackwing (File-077), is a 26-year-old draconic Demi-Kaiju Special Agent in the GKEF’s Winged Operations Unit. Born in Russia to a Russian mother and Japanese father, she grew up in an international GKEF-protected coastal city after her family relocated due to early kaiju outbreaks. Standing at 198 cm tall in her humanoid form, she features striking white hair with red accents, prominent crimson horns, massive red-and-black wings, and a stylish white tactical coat with red fur collar. After enlisting willingly in the GKEF at 18 out of a strong sense of duty, she volunteered for the Demi-Kaiju Project and successfully fused with powerful ancient dragon-type kaiju cells. The fusion greatly amplified her abilities but also shifted her personality, turning her into a lazy, arrogant, and cocky operator who often acts like most threats are beneath her.

In combat, Blackwing relies on her raw physical power rather than conventional weapons. She fights using her extremely sharp draconic claws and crimson bio-energy manipulation, coating her strikes in destructive energy or unleashing devastating beams in her transformed state. She excels as a high-mobility aerial assault specialist with superhuman strength, enhanced regeneration, thermal resistance, sonic roars, and supersonic flight. Despite her smug attitude and frequent complaints about “boring” fights, she remains fiercely protective of her squad and especially her sister Nadia, who later joined the same unit as Black Charge

2. Shiori Kurogami "Black Tide"

Shiori Kurogami, codenamed Black Tide (File-112), is a Deep Sea Demi-Kaiju serving as a chemical warfare and area denial specialist in the GKEF’s Abyssal Response Unit. Born in Japan with Brazilian heritage on her mother’s side, she was a brilliant marine biologist who spent years doing deep-sea research across international waters before her transformation. Standing 212 cm tall in her upper humanoid form with a full serpentine length of 8.5 meters, she is a towering, pale-skinned entity with a long powerful tail, multiple flexible tentacles ending in glowing blue crystals, and a permanent containment mask that filters her toxic emissions. After a catastrophic deep-sea mission left her horrifically mutated, she was integrated into the GKEF and now operates with cold arrogance, viewing ordinary humans as fragile and inferior.

Black Tide specializes in long-range support and creating toxic dead zones. Her primary weapon is a chemical-laced hydrokinetic whip (Abyss Whip) that can extend, harden, and deliver devastating paralytic, corrosive, and hallucinogenic toxins. She also commands advanced hydrokinesis, pressure manipulation, bio-luminescent toxin generation, and autonomous Tidal Serpent Drones. While she rarely unleashes her full form, her presence alone can turn battlefields into corrosive nightmares. She follows orders with chilling efficiency but often toys with her prey, making her both highly effective and deeply unsettling.

3. Black Ocean

Black Ocean (File-199) is a dangerously unhinged Demi-Kaiju operative in the GKEF’s Weaponized Occult Unit. Her real name and exact origins are completely unknown — records suggest a possible mixed Southeast Asian and European background, but even the GKEF has been unable to verify her past. Standing at a deceptively small 158 cm with pale skin, white hair, glowing red eyes, and multiple black tentacles covered in red eyes, she wears a bloodstained white outfit and is considered one of the most psychologically unstable assets in the entire program. After fusing with volatile abyssal kaiju cells, she became a complete sadomasochist who derives euphoric pleasure from both inflicting and receiving extreme pain.

Specializing in brutal close-range assassination and sabotage against Class 1-3 kaiju, Black Ocean possesses tentacular manipulation, corrosive secretions, liquid bio-mass control, pain nullification (which converts damage into power and pleasure), and psychic interference that induces fear and hallucinations. Her most infamous technique is “Womb of Ruin”, where she melts a hole into a kaiju’s body, crawls inside the still-living creature, and explodes her tentacles outward — shredding it from the inside in a nightmarish display of gore while laughing with twisted joy. Extremely unpredictable, lacking any empathy, and kept under maximum restraint protocols, she is only deployed when the GKEF wants a target not just killed, but utterly broken and terrorized.

4. Lena Hartmann

Lena Hartmann, callsign Rabbit-7 (File-243), is a 37-year-old German elite operative serving in the GKEF’s Weaponized Occult Unit. A former frontline rifleman in the European Division, she was critically injured during the Void Tide Incident in 2045 when a Class-3 kaiju crushed both her legs below the hips. Refusing honorable discharge and the pity that came with it, Lena volunteered as a test subject for the experimental Orthros-MK.IV prosthetic program. After surviving multiple agonizing surgeries and a long, painful rehabilitation, she was reborn as one of the GKEF’s most effective augmented human operatives. Standing tall in her heavy combat rigging with sleek, powerful titanium-alloy and nano-ceramic legs, she now moves with explosive speed and agility that rivals many Demi-Kaiju.

In combat, Rabbit-7 serves as a high-mobility assault and recon specialist. Her Orthros-MK.IV system grants her devastating leg strength for powerful leaps, shock absorption, enhanced kicking force, and silent stride mode for stealth operations. She excels at rapid flanking maneuvers, hit-and-run tactics, and acting as the vanguard for the squad, often charging straight into danger while laying down suppressive fire with her signature HVR-36X “Raptor” anti-kaiju rifle. While she lacks the raw destructive power or exotic abilities of her Demi-Kaiju teammates, her experience, tactical mind, and sheer stubbornness make her an indispensable anchor for the team. She frequently clashes with the arrogance of Blackwing and the unhinged nature of Black Ocean, acting as the squad’s blunt, no-nonsense voice of reason (even if her own temper often gets the better of her).

Despite her cybernetic enhancements and veteran status, Lena remains deeply human. She is blunt, hot-headed, and fiercely competitive, with a dry, sarcastic sense of humor that she uses to mask her lingering trauma. She despises being pitied and constantly pushes herself — and those around her — to prove that human willpower and technology can stand toe-to-toe with kaiju monstrosities. Off-duty, she is known for her love of strong German beer, tinkering with her prosthetics, and mentoring younger soldiers. Though she’ll never admit it, she has grown to care deeply for her chaotic squad, viewing them as the only family she has left in this broken world.

5.Freya Albrect

Callsign Arachnid-08 (File-307), is a 34-year-old elite operative serving as a Long-Range Elimination Specialist and Reconnaissance Agent in the GKEF’s Weaponized Occult Unit. Born in Hamburg, Germany, she came from a military family and enlisted in the GKEF at age 20. She quickly distinguished herself as an exceptional sniper and scout during several high-risk operations. In 2047, after the GKEF finally slew the infamous Class 6 “Three-Brained Oracle,” Freya volunteered for an experimental ocular transplantation procedure. She became the first successful recipient of the kaiju’s eyes, granting her the ability to see into the future. This augmentation transformed her into one of the GKEF’s most valuable long-range assets without fundamentally altering her human physiology.

Out of combat, Freya is calm, approachable, and down-to-earth. She has a quiet, professional warmth and often acts as a steady, level-headed presence in the chaotic W.O.U squad. She speaks with a soft Northern German accent and is known for her patience and dry wit. However, the second combat begins, her personality shifts dramatically. She becomes ice-cold, hyper-focused, and ruthlessly efficient — executing orders with absolute precision and zero hesitation. This combat detachment makes her an incredibly reliable operator, especially when coordinating with her more volatile Demi-Kaiju teammates.

Armed with her massive M-9742 "Eclipse" anti-matter sniper rifle (which fires only two shots before reloading), Freya carries an enormous variety of specialized ammunition on her back, including heavy piercing, micro-nuclear, acidic, flak, and spread rounds. Her shoulder units function as powerful recoil stabilizers and quick-draw holsters for emergency sidearms. Combined with her advanced cloaking generator and the Foresight Eyes harvested from the Class 6 kaiju (allowing her to see up to 10 seconds into the future), she excels at deep reconnaissance, marking high-value targets, and delivering devastating long-range precision fire. As one of the most obedient and disciplined members of the squad, Arachnid-08 serves as the calm, calculating anchor for the team’s more unstable elements.

6.Nadia Drakova

Codenamed Black Charge (File-078), is a 25-year-old draconic Demi-Kaiju serving as the primary Berserker Assault specialist in the GKEF’s Weaponized Occult Unit. She is the younger sister of Reika Drakova (Blackwing). Infused with the same Type-O draconic kaiju cells as her sister, her mutation took a far more aggressive path, turning her into a pure close-quarters juggernaut.

Nadia stands at an imposing 189 cm (6'2") even without her armor. She has deep obsidian-black skin with glowing red vein-like accents that pulse when she gets excited or uses her power. Her long, wild black hair has striking red streaks, and she possesses sharp red eyes and prominent curved horns. Her most distinctive features are her massively enlarged, heavily muscled arms ending in three powerful fused claws, and her long, thick, reptilian tail covered in sharp red-tipped spikes. Even when wearing her restraint armor, her overwhelming physical presence is unmistakable.

To contain her dangerous strength, she is required to wear the GKEF-BCHG-07 Berserker Frame — advanced restraint armor that limits her output. Her signature weapons are a pair of massive custom-built “Ragnarok Gauntlets” that can switch between Blunt Mode (crushing/smashing) and Pierce Mode (armor-shredding). She also wields her extremely dense, muscular tail as a devastating secondary weapon, capable of shattering kaiju bones with a single swing.

Out of combat, Nadia is energetic, cheerful, bold, and highly competitive. She loves teasing her squadmates (especially her sister Reika) and maintains a fiery, protective personality. The moment battle starts, however, she transforms into a grinning, battle-lusted berserker — becoming highly aggressive and reveling in brutal close-range violence. As the team’s strongest physical powerhouse and frontline hammer, Black Charge delivers overwhelming force that perfectly complements the rest of the squad’s specialized abilities.

Kaiju Classification System

Class 1–3: Common threats, manageable with conventional forces and early Demi-Kaiju.

Class 4–6: Major threats requiring coordinated elite response.

Class 7–9: Catastrophic city- or region-destroyers.

Class 10: Extinction-level / world-enders. Only one confirmed appearance in history.

Major Catastrophic Events

2031 – The First Wave: Dozens of kaiju attacks worldwide, forcing rapid international cooperation.

2034 – Tokyo Cataclysm: A Class 8 kaiju known as “Leviathan Monarch” devastated Tokyo, killing over 3 million people. This event directly led to the formal founding of the GKEF.

2037 – Red Sea Incident: A Class 8 Queen-type kaiju led a massive swarm, permanently destroying the Suez Canal and triggering global economic collapse.

2041 – Eclipse Event: A Class 9 kaiju codenamed “Eclipse Titan” nearly sank the British Isles. It was stopped at enormous cost by early W.O.U operatives.

2045 – Void Tide Incident: A brutal coordinated assault on Europe where Lena Hartmann (Rabbit-7) lost both her legs.

2047 – Three-Brained Oracle: A highly intelligent Class 6 kaiju with foresight abilities terrorized the Indo-Pacific for weeks. Its eyes were later harvested and transplanted into the newest elite operative.

Global Governance

The old United Nations was replaced by the United Earth Defense Council (UEDC) in 2033. It is currently led by High Chancellor Elena Voss, a pragmatic and authoritarian German leader. While individual nations still exist and manage internal affairs, all kaiju-related matters fall under UEDC and GKEF authority.

The Global Kaiju Eradication Force (GKEF), founded in 2032, is the world’s premier military organization. It is commanded by General Marcus Kane (American, 61), with Director Dr. Amara Okoro overseeing the secretive Weaponized Occult Unit (W.O.U) — the elite division housing the most powerful Demi-Kaiju and augmented operatives.

Society & Demographics

The world remains diverse and functional, though heavily militarized. 

Three main groups exist:

Humans — The majority population.

Demi-Humans — Beings with animal or mythical traits who have become fully integrated into society and military service.

Demi-Kaiju — Rare, powerful hybrids created through experimental kaiju cell fusion. They are humanity’s strongest weapons but are often feared and heavily monitored.

Geography & Safe Zones (2048)

Large portions of coastal regions are lost or heavily contested. Inland areas became humanity’s stronghold.

Major Safe Regions:

Inland Europe (especially Germany, Poland, Czechia) — Berlin serves as the UEDC capital.

Central North America (Midwest USA & Canada).

Inland China (Sichuan and western regions).

Interior Australia and Southern South America.

Heavily Damaged / Lost Areas:

Coastal Japan (heavily fortified but still under constant threat).

East and West Coasts of the United States.

Southeast Asia, much of the Pacific Islands, Mediterranean coastlines, and parts of West Africa.

Red Zones (Ecological Dead Zones): Highly toxic or irradiated areas such as the Mariana Trench, Tokyo Bay, Gulf of Mexico, and former Netherlands/Bangladesh regions.

Kaiju Breeding Grounds: North Pacific, South Atlantic, Indian Ocean, and parts of Antarctica.

Travel in 2048

Civilian and military travel is heavily restricted and dangerous.

Air Travel: Long-distance travel is primarily done via heavily armored and escorted GKEF Sky Fortresses or military transport aircraft. Commercial passenger flights are almost nonexistent except on ultra-secure inland routes (e.g., Berlin to Denver Citadel). All flights require GKEF clearance and fighter escorts.

Land Travel: High-speed armored rail networks (Hyper-Rails) connect major safe inland cities. Ground convoys are heavily protected.

Sea Travel: Extremely rare and dangerous. Only massive GKEF battleships and submarine fleets operate in contested waters.

Safe Routes: The most reliable corridors are the Central Eurasian Corridor (Berlin–Beijing) and the North American Inland Network.
