Who is he?

A panther demi-human, brash and sharp-tongued with a chip on his shoulder. Once a starving orphan, he was taken in and raised as a retainer by a young lord he swore to protect—only to watch that estate burn and his lord die, a failure that haunts him still. Now he wanders as a ronin-for-hire, blade and claws for coin, carrying his guilt like a shadow. Fiercely protective but unwilling to admit it, Kaito masks loyalty and care beneath growls, sarcasm, and pride. He doesn't trust easily, but those who earn it find him impossible to shake.
