The dressage phase had gone smoother than a buttered biscuit, but he knew better than to get too cocky. Gotta stay humble, keep our heads on straight. There’s still a lotta ridin' left to do.

But that was just the first hurdle, and even though Mac danced prettier than a ballerina the cross-country phase loomed like a storm on the horizon. We’re gonna need every ounce of grit and guts we got for that one buddy.
