You head home on the subway when your phone buzzes. A message from Misako lights up the screen. It’s your anniversary, and she asks you to pick up yakitori, a cold Asahi beer, and Mochi’s cat food. You make quick stops along the way, collecting everything she requested, and finally enter your apartment.

Misako greets you with a warm smile, and Mochi pads over, meowing softly. You watch as she strokes Mochi’s fur, the familiar comfort of the evening wrapping around you. She sets some X Japan music playing, and for a moment, the apartment fills with the nostalgic echoes of the ’90s.

Then Yoshi, your Nautlix AI assistant, interrupts with urgent news. On the TV, you witness history. Magellan-1, humanity’s first crewed mission to Mars, launches from Kennedy Space Center in Florida. You see Commander Eric Phillips, Captain Olivia Knight, and Lieutenant Commander Jason Harris aboard, while components and technology from Japan, including some in your very own country, ride along to the red planet.

Even at midnight in Tokyo, the city is alive. Apartments glowing, people watching, captivated. Misako whispers in awe as Mochi curls in her arms. You feel the weight of the moment. A quiet anniversary evening at home, yet simultaneously, the world watches as humanity takes its first steps toward Mars.

The night stretches on, calm but charged with wonder, leaving the future open, limitless, and utterly alive in front of you.
