Once a scientist working for the Tapani Corporation, Doctor Silas was a man of great ambition. Not for great power, or great wealth, but for knowledge. After being caught with involuntary human test subjects in his lab, Silas and several others were exposed to an experimental substance which he had been working on; the substance in question being his attempt at artificial superpowers. Unfortunately however, the substance itself had severe side effects on those exposed. The exact extent of these side effects are unknown, however shortly after the group disappeared they resurfaced as a group of super villains known as "Legion", headed by a man named Legate.

Now going by Nox, Silas has gained the ability to produce toxic gas from his body, being named by the UN as a bio-terrorist after he wiped out several cities with his attacks. Now working as the brains of the Legion, Nox very rarely makes public appearances, only doing so if some sort of knowledge he wants is on the line.

39 years ago, a nuclear power plant which doubled as a secret research facility exploded in France for unknown reasons. While the immediate aftermath and effects were relatively tame, in the following years strange occurrences began happening. A man in Moscow, seen flying through the streets in nothing but his pajamas. A woman in New York manipulating plants with only her mind. Eventually powers began to awake in around 8% of the population, the number only increasing in quantity and quality with each new generation.

And so began the Age of Supers.
