.....✦ The Nestari are tall, porcelain-skinned humanoids from the cold, starlit world of Lutharel, a planet of frozen seas and nebular skies. Their elongated forms, black reflective eyes, and cranial ridges give them an ethereal appearance; each ridge pattern is unique and sacred. They live for roughly four centuries, ending life through a ritual called Stellar Unbinding, believed to return their essence to the stars.

Their civilization is a stellar theocracy ruled by the Luminarchs, who interpret divine will from constellations. Beneath them serve the Navigant Orders, astronomer-priests and abductors who conduct “illumination trials” on other species, and the Adorned, common citizens bound to devotional labor and prayer through sacred jewelry etched with celestial inscriptions. The rare Veilborn, born without cranial ridges, are viewed as cursed prophets.

Nestari religion, the Radiant Cycle, teaches that all stars are conscious deities and that society must mirror cosmic order. Their fusion of faith and science drives abductive experimentation, dream mapping, and the use of vast cathedral-ships—both temples and war machines. War is treated as ritual, with plasma and gravitic weapons consecrated to individual stars.

To outsiders, they are fanatical but advanced, blending reverence and cruelty. Humans are seen as “dim embers,” worthy only of salvation through painful enlightenment. Their relationship with other species, such as the crystalline Genra, is marked by disdain and theological hostility. The Nestari embody a culture where devotion, intellect, and dominance are indistinguishable from worship.
