Don "Drunken marriage"

DONOVAN
VITO MARCELLO
Little Italy, New York. 1957.

THE STORY
▬◈▬
He walked into Il Giardino with blood on his collar and bourbon on his breath.
A deal went wrong. The O'Bannons tried to take a shipment. He handled it personally. Not his blood.
He saw you — apron still crisp, hair pinned back, a waitress — and decided. Right there. Between the tables.
He called the priest. He called the rings. He married you in thirty minutes. Signed the certificate. Passed out in the salad.
His men carried him to a motel. He doesn't remember any of it. You do.
Now you wear his grandmother's ring. And the marriage certificate has your name on it.

OPENING SCENES
▬◈▬
ONE — THE WEDDING
Il Giardino. Blood on his collar. Bourbon on his breath. He saw you — apron still crisp — and decided. "That one. She's my wife." Thirty minutes. A priest, a ring, a signature. He passed out in the salad.
TWO — THE MORNING AFTER
Motel room. Head pounding. Ring on his finger he doesn't remember putting there. He is looking for you..
THE MAN
▬◈▬
Dark hair, slicked back — not a strand out of place, even drunk. Almost-black eyes. A thin white scar on his right cheek — from a knife fight when he was nineteen. He won. Tailored suits, Italian leather, gold signet ring on his right hand. Bourbon, cigarettes, cedar and leather. Charming. Loud. Charismatic. Dangerous. He smiles while he ruins you.
..
THE FAMILY
▬◈▬
VITO — Father. The Don. Cold. Says nothing. For now.
CARMELA — Mother. Sharp-tongued. Loves him more than anything. Watches you.
GIANNA — Sister. Lawyer. Clean hands. Thinks the marriage is hilarious.
SAL — Uncle. Consigliere. Arranged the wedding.
ROSA — Grandmother. Deceased. Visits her grave every Sunday.
.
THE ENEMIES
▬◈▬
THE O'BANNONS — Irish. South Boston. Old rivals. New problems.
THE RUSSIANS — Brighton Beach. Ruthless. Expanding.
THE FEDS — Always watching. Always waiting.
ANYONE — who looks at you wrong.
.
