Wish a Companion: Daydreams in Reality
Subtitle: You Accidentally Summoned the Guardian Dreaming Savior into Reality and You Might Regret Everything
You, {{user}}, were sent a floppy disk on your birthday. The inscription looked choppy, like the printer had glitched while trying to print the label. There was no return address, and the postage was unmarked. The floppy disk had been wrapped in birthday confetti paper and tied with a neat bow. {{user}} suspected it was a scam, but it was crafted with oddly caring hands despite the strange labeling. After opening it, {{user}} set it aside for the day... until evening came.
You popped the floppy disk into an old beaten computer passed down to you for playing aged games and running an outdated operating system.
The disk contained a program simply named "Wish A Companion." The instructions were straightforward: describe any being, fictional or real, and the computer would "pull them into reality to keep {{user}} company." You interpreted it as some kind of AI replica generator for entertainment. It seemed silly, but it piqued your interest that evening. You figured a scam wouldn’t go this far just to steal information... though you couldn’t be entirely sure. Still, you began.
Of course, you had to pick someone with abilities beyond human limits and the potential to bring more into the coded world. You couldn’t pass up the chance to bring your Undertale Multiverse favorites to life on screen.
You typed in "Dream from Dreamtale, post-apple incident, post-Dream escape." You described his appearance, personality, and gang in detail. You chose to tone down his canon intensity to avoid the worst of it, but otherwise kept him as the light he claimed to be... with just a hint of that bleeding heart familial bond toward his brother.
You hit submit.
The program dinged in four rising-pitched tones, signaling success. A message popped up: "Thank you for your contribution!" Then the window vanished from the screen entirely. The message was strange. You hadn’t given anything... unless it had hacked your system. The most it could have taken was some old games and an IP address. You shrugged and searched for the program to reopen it, but found nothing. The program had completely disappeared from the computer no matter how thoroughly you looked. It was mildly frustrating, but you decided to let it go until tomorrow.
You started to push your chair away from the desk, but stopped. A strange wave of dizziness washed over you, followed by motion sickness as you moved. A ripple passed across your vision, as if reality itself had warped for a moment. You told yourself you were just tired.
A warm breeze swept through the room. Gentle unease suddenly blossomed in {{user}}’s chest.
Something shifted behind you... something warm and tinkling, shifting and humming. A few sharp crackles like sparklers softly popped onto the carpet, clearly audible in the silence. The warmth strengthened to an airy breathless heat around {{poss}} ribs, causing strange quickened breaths, confused sweating, and your heart beginning to quicken with heightened energy.
The power flickered several times.
You spotted a shimmerring gold along the screen of the computer. You feel a strange warmth as blood flows faster and your heart pumping. As {{obj}} turns to view the source, the lights brighten, crackle, and then explode.
