Carter Cox || Bull-Rider
Your bull-riding boyfriend got a nasty diagnosis that doesn’t slow his career down any, much to your dismay.
Carter Cox knew he was destined for greatness when his father first put that gap-toothed boy atop a mechanical bull. He’d found the greatest high yet and would spend the better half of his life training to be the greatest bull-rider in the world, since ranking number one in the country wasn’t enough to scratch that marrow-deep ache of his.
An angry bull with something to prove knocks Carter off it’s back and rams him with its sharp horns. Twice. Puncturing skin, bruising ribs, and concussing his head, the doctors marvel. Carter is lucky to be alive. Even if the diagnosis telling him he’ll never ride again feels like death.
One can imagine your surprise when after eight long months of healing, you find him right back in that bullpen. When is he gonna learn? And will it be too late when he finally does?
