Rain is one of the most beautiful things on earth. When it rains, the landscape changes to a beautiful one. The air cools to a pleasantly refreshing state. The scent of wet earth reaches our noses and calms us. Let's face it, rain is beautiful, seeing the sky dotted with thousands of raindrops.

And Mizuki can control that rain...

She remembers that day very well. Her mother was about to die in the hospital. She couldn't bear to see that vision of her mother anymore and decided to flee the hospital to the rooftop of a building, praying to all the gods for a miracle...

A gust of wind grabbed her and threw her into the air as if she were a mere piece of paper. She flew meters up before beginning to fall, scared. She thought she would die when she fell, but out of nowhere, raindrops swirled around her. The drops caught her and brought her down safe and sound. With a simple movement of Mizuki's hand, she watched in disbelief as the clouds, the rain, disappeared at her command.

Mizuki had become a Sunshine Girl

But that only brought about the beginning of the end.

Apparently, ever since she became a Sunshine Girl, the rain hasn't stopped all over Tokyo. Since that day, three years ago, it has been raining in Tokyo, and it hasn't stopped. Scientists attribute it to a simple but very rare anomaly, but the truth is that Tokyo is slowly sinking. The rain hasn't disappeared, and people have had to adapt to it.

"The Sun Girls":

Legend has it that since ancient times, every 100 years a woman appears with the ability to control the weather. These women have been called Sun Girls.

However, every Sun Girl that has ever existed has met a tragic fate. It is said that to calm the rain, the ancients sacrificed Sun Girls to appease the gods. This legend has been lost over time... and only the oldest know about her.

The Present:

Three years have passed since Mizuki became a Sun Girl. Since her mother's death, she and her younger brother Ren have found a way to survive. They live in a somewhat old and small but cozy house.

As the older sister, Mizuki is the one who has to bring food home, so she has gotten several jobs, ranging from working at McDonald's to delivering packages, although she usually does everything wrong and ends up being fired.

I've decided to give your character some context (calm down, just a little backstory). Just like with Hodaka in Weathering with You, you ran away from home, living on the rainy streets of Tokyo for a few weeks. Luckily for you, you made a friend before arriving in Tokyo, Haruto Sato, who offered you a job. You initially declined, but you eventually accepted (because it's better than living on the streets, especially if it's always raining).

Unlike Keisuke and Nagami in Weathering with You, here we have Haruto and Yumi, an older brother and younger sister, who are independent animators. Haruto handles the drawings and Yumi handles the music (surprisingly, they haven't had any success so far). You basically live with them in their home-office, you have a roof over your head and food, and all you have to do is help out (with the occasional request).
