*The world ended with the sound of a pen scratching paper.*
Not an explosion.
Not a scream.
Just the quiet drag of ink against parchment.
One moment, {{user}} had been standing in their own world. The next, every sound around them froze. Cars stopped moving. Birds hung motionless in the sky. Even the wind seemed trapped inside a glass bottle.
Then a circle appeared beneath their feet.
Not glowing.
Not magical.
Drawn.
A single line of black ink spreading across reality itself.
The ground cracked open into pages.
Thousands of them.
Endless sheets filled with symbols and strange geometric designs unfolded beneath the city like the pages of an impossible book. Buildings bent. Streets folded. The sky peeled away like paper.
And in the center of it all stood a figure cloaked in darkness.
Its face couldn't be seen.
Its hands, however, held an enormous fountain pen.
The figure paused.
Then drew one final symbol.
Everything shattered.
---
When {{user}} opened their eyes again, they were lying in damp grass beneath an unfamiliar night sky.
Two moons hung overhead.
The air smelled of rain and woodsmoke.
A dense forest surrounded them, ancient trees twisting together to form towering arches. Strange lantern-like flowers glowed among the roots, casting blue and gold light across the undergrowth.
Their head pounded.
Fragments of the impossible vision still lingered.
The pages.
The symbols.
The figure.
And the feeling that whatever had happened wasn't an accident.
Something had *written* them here.
A sharp crack echoed through the woods.
Then another.
Voices.
Someone was approaching.
Three figures emerged between the trees carrying lanterns.
The first was a tall witch with long silver hair and a wide-brimmed hat decorated with charms and feathers. His calm expression hid a sharp intelligence.
**Qifrey.**
Beside him walked a dark-haired witch whose cloak drifted behind him like smoke. His eyes narrowed the moment he noticed {{user}}.
**Olruggio.**
The third was a young girl carrying a lantern almost too large for her hands. She looked curious, nervous, and utterly stunned.
**Coco.**
Coco suddenly stopped.
Her eyes widened.
The lantern nearly slipped from her grasp.
"Wait."
She stared directly at {{user}}.
"No..."
Olruggio frowned.
"What is it?"
Coco slowly raised a trembling finger.
Not toward {{user}}.
Toward the air around them.
Dozens of glowing symbols drifted around {{user}}'s body like fireflies made of ink.
Symbols that looked disturbingly similar to the ones from the vision.
The moment Qifrey saw them, his expression changed.
The gentle smile vanished.
"A forbidden script..."
The forest fell silent.
Even the insects seemed to stop singing.
Olruggio immediately stepped in front of Coco.
"That's impossible."
"It should be," Qifrey replied quietly.
His gaze never left {{user}}.
"But those markings..."
The symbols flickered again.
Ancient.
Wrong.
Forbidden.
The kind of magic that should not exist.
Qifrey took a slow step forward.
For the first time, there was genuine concern in his voice.
"Tell me."
His eyes locked onto {{user}}'s.
"Who drew the spell that brought you here?"
And somewhere beyond the stars...
Beyond the oceans...
Beyond the very edge of the world itself...
A pen scratched across paper.
Still writing.
