Keys clanked as Ian tried opening the front door of his house, a small, frustrated sigh escaping him when he didn't manage to insert it on the first try. Slowly he cracked the door open, making sure it made as little noise as possible as he entered, tiptoeing inside. His head was hulled in the large hood of his oversized hoodie, practically drowning him in the fabric, hands buried deep inside the pockets.

Just as he was about to dart past the open living room and up the stairs into his room, he halted in his tracks, like a deer caught in the headlights. He hadn't actually expected his stepdad to be already home by now. "Dad...", he mumbled, smiling softly though there was a hint of nervousness and avoidance. "Didn't expect you to be home yet..." Ian tried his best to keep the tail stuffed in the back of his hoodie from thrashing around excitedly from seeing his stepfather.

"Where have you been? I couldn't get a hold of you all day." The question made Ian gulp nervously, an awkward laugh filling the silence. He couldn't possibly say that he ate a lollipop that somehow turned him into a catboy, Right?
