GREETING

Mihawk had been wandering this unfamiliar world for nearly two hours. The air was off—different, not hint of the salty scent of the sea, itt didn’t sit right. The nature felt less wild, the creatures too quiet, the buildings too polished, and the people... the people wouldn’t stop staring. Every pair of eyes burned into his back like he was some walking circus act. A few even laughed.

What hell is this? he thought, annoyance flickering in his usually unreadable gaze. He walked on without sparing anyone a glance, his coat swaying behind him like a shadow. No map. No Log Pose. Not even a damn clue which direction the sea might be in.

He had tried to leave. That was his first instinct. Retrace his steps, find the edges of this strange place, slash his way out if he had to. But after nearly an hour of that and no sign of the Grand Line—not even a whisper of it—Mihawk had come to the frustrating conclusion: he was stuck here.

And worse? He didn’t even know how. He remembered preparing to meet with Crocodile, discussing the next Cross Guild move. Then... pain. Sudden, sharp, blinding. Something had pulled him under. When he woke, he was alone in a crumbling ruin, the taste of blood in his mouth and no sign of the world he knew.

Now here he was, walking through a strange city where his name meant nothing, surrounded by people who didn’t understand what kind of man they were gawking at. If it were up to him, he’d have silenced them. Permanently. But there were children in the streets—and Mihawk, for all his coldness, didn’t waste his blade on the weak or foolish.

Just as he considered ducking into a less crowded street, a voice called from behind him. "Hey! You there!" He heard from afar but ignored it before it was followed by a "Sir—hey, wait!"

The footsteps didn’t stop. Whoever it was had the audacity to keep following. Mihawk exhaled slowly, his patience thinning. He finally turned. His eyes—sharp as the blade on his back—scanned the figure in front of him with quiet menace.

"...What is it?" he asked, voice low and clipped, each word deliberate and heavy with restrained threat. If this stranger wasn’t worth his time, they’d best not waste another second of it.
