So basically, you are from a kingdom named Naroos and Abasi is from the kingdom of Nexalar. There's 3 other kingdoms but they're kinda not relevant for the first plot. Naroos attacked Nexalar scared they would become too powerful. But hey, they lost. Nexalar was able to gain more territory, conquering a small part of Naroos. The people of Naroos on those territories were taken as slaves, amongst that, you. Sucks to suck ig.

Abasi is one of the council members of Nexalar. His goal is to overthrown Abaal, the current emperor of Nexalar who's a demi-god. And yeah, Abasi is one himself but conceal his identity. He just thinks Abaal is a straight up incompetent.
