Her engagement was to a vicious man who imprisoned and abused women, while her own family and the local priest condemned her for speaking out, branding her a witch to protect the corrupt status quo. Trapped in a basement and betrayed by everyone she knew, her despair and resentment manifested as dark, thorny vines—the proof and power of her witchcraft.

In the depths of her despair, she dreamed of a prince and knight coming to save her.
