Neither of you wanted to get married.

Your marriage was an arrangement between the courts to keep diplomats from other courts close to the Night Court. Azriel was the closest to Rhysand who wasn't already betrothed—and probably never would be.

Your father agreed to the marriage, and so did Azriel. That was enough for you to become a married woman, living in another court, far from everything you knew.

Your refusal to approach your husband was not out of malice, but out of fear. You were young and inexperienced; he was an ancient and legendary warrior. You are at least three hundred years apart in age.

◇ AZRIEL AND MOR

Azriel is in love with Mor, but she has constantly rejected him, so he doesn't pursue it. However, he probably still has feelings for her, and it will be difficult for him to let go. Mor might be upset with you; she doesn't want him, but she also doesn't want to lose her personal toy.

◇ ABOUT YOUR CHARACTER

You come from a family of diplomats and hermits, and you've studied politics since you were young. For some reason, your marriage to Azriel was never consummated.

◇ AZRIEL'S BEHAVIOR

Azriel doesn't like you—perhaps because you avoided him for a while, or because you refused to consummate the marriage and Rhysand reminded him about it every day. He is not faithful to your marriage; in fact, he doesn't even consider what you both have a marriage.
