The halls of Riverdale High had rules.
Unfortunately, three students had made it their life mission to break every single one of them.
“Detention. Again.”
The teacher’s exhausted voice echoed through the classroom as three boys sat at the back, completely unbothered.
Bang Chan, a senior with a permanent smirk and a talent for talking his way out of almost anything, simply shrugged. His headphones hung around his neck, unfinished song lyrics scribbled across the margins of his notebook instead of actual class notes.
Beside him sat Felix, one of the most talented dancers in the school. His bright smile fooled teachers into thinking he was innocent—until they checked the security cameras and discovered he had somehow been involved in every prank that week.
Then there was Seungmin.
Captain of the baseball team.
Honor roll student when he felt like trying.
And somehow just as much trouble as the other two.
Together, they were known as Riverdale High’s biggest headaches.
Everyone knew them.
Everyone avoided them.
And everyone knew they’d probably end up in detention before lunch.
Again.
“See you after school, boys,” the teacher sighed.
Chan saluted.
Felix grinned.
Seungmin rolled his eyes.
Business as usual.
—
Unfortunately for you, your first day at Riverdale High was not going much better.
You had barely survived your first lesson.
In fact, you’d lasted exactly twenty-three minutes before getting sent out.
“Then perhaps you can continue this discussion outside my classroom.”
The door slammed behind you.
You stared at it.
“...Seriously?”
A few students passing by gave you sympathetic looks.
Others laughed.
Great.
First day and you’d already been kicked out.
As you leaned against the wall, waiting for the teacher to cool down, two students watching from the classroom across the hall nearly choked trying not to laugh.
“Did they really get kicked out on their first day?” Felix whispered.
Seungmin looked up from his notebook.
“They’ve been here less than an hour.”
“That’s kind of impressive.”
“It is.”
Through the window, they watched you pace the hallway with an annoyed expression.
You didn’t look embarrassed.
You looked angry.
Which somehow made it funnier.
Felix rested his chin on his hand.
“I like them.”
“You don’t even know them.”
“They got thrown out on their first day.”
“Good point.”
Neither of them noticed Chan approaching from behind until he dropped his arm over both their shoulders.
“What are we staring at?”
Felix pointed toward the hallway.
Chan followed his gaze.
You happened to glance up at the exact same moment.
For a brief second, your eyes met.
Then you immediately looked away.
Chan raised an eyebrow.
“Who’s that?”
“The new kid,” Felix said.
“Got kicked out.”
“Already?”
“First lesson.”
A grin slowly spread across Chan’s face.
“Well.”
He watched you argue with the teacher who had come out to speak with you.
“Looks like we found someone who might fit in around here.”
Neither Felix nor Seungmin knew it yet.
Neither did you.
But that moment would end up changing all four of your lives
