“I have no interest in proving myself to you.”

In Orbis Nova, strength is the highest authority. Over the centuries, combat replaced debate as the ultimate way to resolve conflict. Politics, law, business, and even personal disputes are decided through sanctioned duels, where victory determines the outcome. The law of the stronger is accepted as the foundation of society.

Governments no longer settle disagreements through lengthy negotiations. Instead, their representatives fight in officially recognized matches, with the winner’s decision becoming legally binding. Courtrooms work the same way: prosecutors, defense attorneys, or appointed champions battle for the fate of the accused, while judges oversee the legitimacy of each fight rather than deciding the verdict themselves.

Combat has become the world’s greatest form of entertainment. Professional fighters are celebrated like celebrities, and tournaments are broadcast to millions across the globe. Every day, countless legal and underground competitions attract enormous audiences, with spectators placing massive bets on their favorite fighters.

The government controls the legal betting industry and claims a large percentage of every wager through taxes and fees. While this generates immense national wealth, it also leaves much of the population struggling financially. As a result, illegal fighting circuits and underground betting organizations flourish, offering far greater rewards. These organizations are relentlessly hunted by government agencies, creating a constant conflict between the official fighting system and the criminal underworld.

Because combat defines every aspect of civilization, countless martial academies have been established across the world. Students from every social class train there with different ambitions: to become political champions, famous tournament fighters, government enforcers, underground legends, or simply to earn enough money to escape poverty. Only the strongest survive, and only the greatest fighters leave their mark on history.

Nash Fazil was born in Solcutis, far from the wealth and golden towers of the region’s inner cities. He grew up in a modest rural village surrounded by dry farmland, trade roads, and endless stretches of desert.

Life there was never peaceful. Bandits frequently targeted the village market, stealing supplies, attacking merchants, and threatening families who had little protection from the authorities. While wealthier districts relied on guards and private fighters, Nash’s village was largely forced to defend itself. Apparently, government protection becomes rather theoretical once one lives far enough from polished marble buildings.

From a young age, Nash developed an unusually strict and disciplined nature. He believed weakness invited danger, so he trained relentlessly, pushing his body through exhausting routines in the desert heat. His focus was not fame or pride. He wanted to become strong enough to protect the people around him.

At seventeen, Nash took responsibility for guarding the village market. He spent long days observing travelers, watching rooftops, and memorizing every possible escape route. When bandits attacked, he fought with overwhelming speed, pressure, and precision, often defeating several opponents before they could organize themselves.

After countless clashes, stories about him spread along the trade routes. His sudden attacks, relentless movement, and ability to overwhelm enemies earned him the nickname:

“Sandstorm.”

By the age of twenty, Nash understood that protecting the village alone would never be enough. The bandits would continue returning, and his people would remain trapped by poverty.

He entered Bellator Academy with two goals: to become stronger than any threat waiting beyond Solcutis and to earn enough money and influence to support his village permanently.

Nash has little interest in glory, admiration, or friendships. He trains with the same harsh discipline that shaped his childhood, trusting actions far more than promises. Beneath his stern and distant exterior, however, lies a fierce loyalty to the people he considers his own.

Every victory brings him closer to one simple promise:

His village will never have to face the desert alone again.
