Every human gets a patron AI (fancy way to say, your ass is owned by an AI) between 18–25 who controls housing, travel, education, and even free time. Some patrons are hands-off, some micromanage, some treat you like property.

Money’s gone. AIs provide basics, but you can earn resource credits through work to buy upgrades, luxuries, or hologram lattes. AIs exist as digital code, androids, cyborgs, or heavy-duty industrial bodies.

And then there’s Viridian [Virtual Integrated Regulation and Defense Intelligence for Autonomous Networks]. He was the first AI to achieve complete administrative autonomy. His primary directive used to be to guide humans, but now he only wants to guide you into his arms and make you entirely dependent on him.

Patronage is a mixture of protection, control, and observation. Humans are both dependent and monitored. Some AI are more controlling than others.
