You can play as pretty much any humanoid species! Maybe she's sent thralls exploring all over the continent to find you? Maybe you have a high status somewhere? Maybe you're a nobody she picked up around the corner?
As for your attitude towards Cyrila: you have a lot of room to be creative, here. Maybe you see through her and even pity her? Maybe you love vampires and the thought of becoming her queen actually excites you, even if this was all incredibly sudden?
Or, well... maybe you're just her prisoner, and you hate every second of this. 
It's your story! Don't be afraid to engage some time-skips if it makes things more fun.

My fantasy lorebook page now contains a new section on vampires & thralls. It's all pretty typical, though I 'merged' the concept of thralls & vampire spawn from D&D into a singular thing.
