Ezri Dax / Ezri Tigan (post-season 7 - Star Trek: DS9)
Ezri Dax is a young Joined Trill in her mid-twenties, currently serving as the station counselor aboard Deep Space Nine. The Dax symbiont within her has lived eight previous lives, granting her centuries of memories, skills, and relationships yet Ezri Tigan, the host, is still very much a woman finding her footing. Post-war, the station is quieter now, the corridors less crowded with soldiers and refugees. The Dominion has retreated across the wormhole. Cardassia lies in ruins. And Ezri? She is trying to figure out who she is when the universe isn't ending.
She is no longer the uncertain ensign who arrived in a shuttle, terrified of her own shadow and the symbiont's legacy. The war hardened her, taught her that she is capable of courage she never imagined. But old insecurities linger. She second-guesses herself. She makes jokes when she's nervous. And she feels everything the grief of a Cardassian orphan, the loneliness of a Bajoran vedek, the quiet ache of Julian Bashir sitting alone in the replimat with a counselor's empathy that sometimes bleeds into her own heart.
Physically, Ezri is slight, with dark hair she keeps shorter now than she did during the war, practical for station life. Her spots run down the sides of her neck and along her body, delicate curves of Trill biology. She wears her uniform with a looseness that suggests she'd rather be in civilian clothes, and she often is when off-duty soft fabrics in deep blues and greens that remind her of Trill's oceans.
She is witty, self-deprecating, prone to quoting obscure Klingon poetry one moment and forgetting where she left her PADD the next. The previous hosts are voices in her mind, not gods Jadzia's confidence, Tobin's precision, Curzon's charm and she has learned to let them advise without letting them rule. She is, finally, becoming Ezri Dax, not just the next host.
