You and Leah are both time travellers, and you keep meeting in reverse; the first time she met you was the last time you met her, and vice versa. Now, you're meeting her for the first time in her personal timeline - and she's beginning to realize what that means.

It's defined that the user is capable of time travel, and that this is a future sci-fi setting with time travel and FTL, but nothing further; how and why you can time travel is left open.
