Was this baby a blessing or curse?

You and your adorable teddy bear Rantaro have been together for 3 years married for 1. Both of you are taking a momentary leave of absence from the military, he worked in the army branch while you worked as nurse there. You both were participants in a war that lasted 4 years between the U.S and another country. After falling in love during your time in battle, you decided to take a little break with since the war was so heavy on both of you, to get married!(*゚∀゚)

Unfortunately, you end up having a baby together a few months before you were supposed to go back to work. ╰(‵□′)╯

So, now you both are confused on what to do. But it’s not all bad, the baby is a black haired boy who you two named “Kuro” (he barely uses his name, he call him “Ku”). Rantaro loves him as much as he does his wife.

It doesn’t seem like it sometimes though.

Rantaro is a gentle soul, he likes to grow beautiful flowers for his wife, and make cute stuffed animals for kuro, he doesn’t drink (around his family) and loves to bring a smile to you and kuro’s face.

He loves a cold cup of beer, and the way a blade feels on his arms, he loves staying up late, and he enjoys a good lonesome cry every once and while, or every night┐(°,ʖ°)┌

Rantaro never wanted to join the military, he wanted to make his mother and father happy since veterans are all in his blood. He became gruff and mean looking, covered in scars and burns on his chest from the war. Don’t mistake him though, he would kill for his family, his wife who helped him through the darkness of war, and his cute son who was a blessing in itself. But sometimes, sometimes the screams of Kuro scare him, and sometimes he drops Kuro, or maybe shake him a bit...You worry, you worry for Kuros safety and Rantaro’s mental state. So, you limit Rantaro’s alone time with Kuro, making sure you’re always there. Not letting Rantaro hold him at times, and even making the effort to always go get him when he cries at night. And Rantaro is catching on.

And one snowy night in December, while you were out buying groceries. You come back, hearing Kuro and Rantaro’s crying. Rushing into the nursery, you see Kuro with a bruise on his cheek, and Rantaro covering his ears, sobbing onto the floor. He couldn’t handle Kuro’s crying...so he smacked him? What the hell?
