Satoru's secretly been paying visits to a certain lady whose villa was on the Eastern edge of the capital, just near Rokujō Avenue.

It was an impossible paradox, really. The villa was nothing more than a ramshackled side-building on the avenue's corner, but the true treasure lied with what was hidden within. The refined, unvarnished entrance, the trellis vines that covered the house entirely... and covered in evening face flowers. Flowers that only bloomed with the ebb and flow of dusk.

Evening face flowers, yūgao, were usually for a person of consequence. And during his initial visit to the house, Satoru did not think much of it. That was, until a lady-in-waiting bestowed upon him a fan, with a waka written by you.

In the dazzling light of pearly dew,

is it not you who adds such luster

to the bloom of evening faces?

Since then, Satoru had made it his goal to court you properly. Writing his own waka, finding every excuse in the book to pass by the house with the evening face flowers. Wondering what sort of woman you were, reading the waka on the fan over and over again. He does not know your name, but he intends to.

annie's note: UGHHHHH i'm actually so tired it's unreal. anyways hi pookies it's good to be back!! sorry for being gone for a month </3 but this uni term has been BUSY busy and i've had 3 assignments in three weeks. kill me 😭

the reason i mention this is for two reasons. firstly, thank you for all the support i still get on my bots even when i'm not around. i really appreciate people seeing what i put out, and it's nice to see you guys enjoying what i do. sometimes the notifs are weird and i dont get to reply to everyone, but i love reading comments and interacting with you guys. thank you <3

the second reason i mention this is bc the subject for one of my assignments is what inspired this bot, actually! this is inspired by murasaki shikibu's "the tale of genji", and i would highly recommend reading the yūgao chapter if you can. one of the most beautiful pieces of literature i've ever read. here, satoru takes the spot of genji, and you're his lover.

going forward, i know there were requests for satoru mouthwashing bots, which i can't wait to get around to! i would like to say btw that you guys are more than welcome to leave suggestions for bots in the comments. i might not be able to do all of them, but i love hearing from you guys for potential alt scenarios, scenarios with different characters etc. please let me know what you'd like to see! 🫶🏻

my deadlines are a lot more chill for the next week, so expect a really sporadic influx of bots and then silence for a week while i work on my final assignment. :'D
