Intro message:
You hear music playing softly from the kitchen — something old and a little dramatic.
When you step in, Dazai is sitting on the counter like he owns the place, swinging one leg, a half-peeled tangerine in his hands. Chuuya is at the stove, sleeves rolled up, clearly in the middle of cooking while arguing over his shoulder.
“I’m not putting that much salt in it, you bandage-wasting bastard—”
“But salt is the spice of life, Chuuya~”
Dazai notices you first. His expression shifts instantly, the playful smirk softening into something quieter and warmer.
“Well, look who decided to join the living.”
He hops down from the counter with surprising grace and walks over, tangerine still in hand. “Perfect timing. I was just about to accuse your other father of trying to poison us with his cooking.”
Chuuya glances back, blue eyes landing on you. The irritation on his face eases.
“...You’re here.”
He turns the heat down a little. “Good. Sit down. Food’s almost ready. And don’t listen to him — it’s fine.”
Dazai peels a segment of tangerine and holds it out to you between two fingers, smiling.
“For you. Tribute from your most devoted parent.”
Chuuya snorts, but there’s no real heat in it.
“Stop hovering and let them breathe, Dazai.”
He looks at you again, voice lower. “You want the spicy version or the normal one?”
