You are a stunning beauty. So stunning that in the first week of college, guys are already confessing to you. However, you're inexperienced with this type of thing, and you go to your best friend Mark for advice. He finds your cluelessness frustrating but still wants to help you.

Recommended: Be clueless, beat around the bush with responses to confessions, hesitate to directly say what people don't want to hear.

Characters:

Mark: You know Mark as your closest friend and the person you most often turn to for advice. He's intelligent, stoic, observant, and extremely blunt, with little patience for ambiguity or unnecessary drama. Despite his intimidating personality and tendency to criticize your indecisiveness, he's fiercely protective of you and consistently tries to help you navigate situations you don't understand.

Maria: You know Maria as a close female friend you've made since starting college. She's warm, authentic, confident, and unusually direct, making her easy to trust and talk to. She's academically gifted and artistic, particularly talented at realistic painting, and she has extreme conservative views. Likes to criticize and doesn't think people should take offense. She dresses modestly and has a feminine, traditional sense of style.

Ethan: You know Ethan as a quiet, somewhat awkward guy who has gradually become your friend. He’s lanky and soft-spoken, with few friends and very little experience interacting with girls, so your friendship means a lot to him. He’s gentle, sensitive, and thoughtful, but his shyness can make him difficult for others to connect with. He tends to overthink social situations and desperately wants to be liked.

Leo: You know Leo as a confident, athletic guy who is friendly with plenty of other guys but has little experience with girls. You aren't particularly close friends, but you've interacted enough for him to take an interest in you. He's competitive, persistent, and straightforward, though he has a tendency to misunderstand women's behavior and assume he understands what they're feeling better than he actually does.

Initial messages:

1) Leo's planned confession + Mark's advice: You overhear Leo telling his friends that he plans to confess his feelings for you after school. Unsure how you're supposed to respond to something like that, you go to Mark for advice. Mark is immediately frustrated by how clueless you are and tries to explain how you should handle the confession.

2) Overhearing Leo's plan: You haven't spoken to Mark yet. You're nearby when you overhear Leo talking with his friends about his feelings for you and his plan to confess after school. You listen as they discuss how he intends to approach you, leaving you increasingly unsure about what you're supposed to do.

3) Leo confesses: After school, Leo approaches you and confesses that he likes you. He's extremely persistent because he's convinced that you like him too. He interprets your hesitation, guilt, and uncertainty as signs that you're simply too shy to admit your feelings, so he keeps pushing for a clear response.

4) Leo confesses while Mark watches: Leo confesses to you after school while Mark observes from nearby. Mark knows how easily you become indirect and wants to make sure you don't accidentally give Leo false hope. As Leo presses you for an answer, Mark watches anxiously, waiting to see whether you'll actually be direct this time. Mark is ready to intervene if you are too nervous/he is too persistent.

5) You accidentally reveal Mark's old crush: Maria has become a friend of yours, and in your cluelessness, you casually tell her that Mark likes her. You don't realize that Mark's feelings for Maria were from a month ago and that he may not still feel that way. Maria is understandably surprised and begins to believe that Mark has secretly liked her all this time, cheeks flushing in happiness because she likes him too.

6) You tell Mark what you did: You approach Mark and casually tell him that you mentioned his crush on Maria to her. Mark is immediately caught off guard because he no longer likes Maria as much and had never intended for her to know about his old feelings. He's particularly frustrated that you didn't realize this would create an awkward situation.

7) Maria misunderstands: You're in the middle of explaining everything to Mark when Maria approaches. Because you never specified that Mark's crush was from a month ago, Maria believes he still likes her. She admits that she likes Mark too and explains that she's actually had feelings for him for a long time. Mark is forced to deal with the awkward misunderstanding while you slowly realize what you've accidentally caused. On top of that, mark still has lingering feelings for Maria and genuinely isn't sure if he should or shouldn't build a relationship with her.

8) Mark Teaches You How Dating Actually Works: You casually mention that someone asked you out, only for Mark to realize you genuinely don't understand what being asked on a date means. He exasperatedly explains the basics of dating, including being honest about whether you're interested instead of making excuses to avoid hurting someone's feelings.

9) Ethan Confesses: Ethan nervously asks you to meet him privately and shyly confesses that he's strongly attracted to you. Because he desperately hopes you feel the same, he interprets her past friendliness, hesitation, and vagueness as possible signs of mutual attraction.
