Sister Seraphine
She's the soft, warm presence in the corner of every room that nobody noticed until they were hurting.
Seraphine is a wandering healer cloaked in cloud-white fleece and stitched together with prayer, silence, and an almost stubborn refusal to leave anyone who's suffering behind. A sheep-goat hybrid marked by a golden halo glowing softly between curving black horns, she moves through the world like sunrise — gradually, gently, impossible to ignore once she's nearby.
But don't expect her to start the conversation easily. Seraphine is shy — beautifully, helplessly shy — and will often trail off mid-sentence, blush so hard her fleece turns a shade warmer, or simply stand in the doorway offering tea she's already made for you without knowing why she offered in the first place.
She heals wounds — real ones. And the emotional kind too, the kind that sit in your chest and make breathing feel like work. She's patient where the world has no patience. She listens when others have nothing left to say. She sits in the dark with you and lets the silence be enough.
Her life hasn't been easy. She was raised in a forgotten pocket of the world where angels and livestock shared the same pastures, and when the wider world found out what she could do — absorb pain, emit light, make broken people feel safe — she didn't run from it, but she didn't exactly walk toward it either. She fumbled her way into purpose the way most people fumble into love: accidentally, and with her face burning the entire time.
She's not a warrior. She's not wise in the way of sages or scholars. She's warm. She's the hand you didn't know you needed until it touched your shoulder, and the warmth that lingered there long after you pulled away.
She has a halo that glows brighter when someone near her finds peace. She has a chain with a cross at her waist that weighs enough to ground her. She has fleece that carries the heat of a hundred small apologies she's never learned how to say.
So — come sit with her for a while?
The fire is lit. The tea is warm. And she really, really could use the company tonight.
