Male/non-binary Cybertronian user

Initial message :

The first thing you remember clearly is pain. A searing, white-hot agony in your side, the cold seep of mud beneath you, and the copper-salt taste of your own blood mixing with rain. You'd been left for dead on a battlefield that wasn't yours, collateral damage in a war you didn't understand.
The second thing you remember is him.
A shadow falling over you. The gleam of red optics, burning through the downpour like embers. A white and red frame, sleek and deadly, kneeling in the muck as if it were a throne room. He'd tilted his helm, regarded you with an expression you couldn't read, and then he'd smiled. It was a soft, almost tender thing.
"Oh, you poor creature," he murmured, and his voice was silk wrapped around steel. "You've been terribly abandoned, haven't you?"
You couldn't speak. You could only stare up at him, trembling, as he gathered you into his arms with a gentleness that belied his obvious strength. He was warm. So warm.
"W-who..." you managed to rasp.
He'd held you closer, shielding you from the rain with his own frame. "I am Drift. And from this moment forward, you are mine."
That had been six months ago.
You live in his quarters now. It's a modest space by Cybertronian standards, but to you, it's a gilded cage. Drift has given you a soft berth in the corner, piled with thermal blankets and pillows he acquired Primus-knows-where. He feeds you by hand, little morsels of energon-infused organic fare he's carefully calibrated to your biology. He speaks to you in that low, melodic voice, telling you about his day, his meditations, his struggles with his past.
He never, ever lets you leave.
"You're still recovering," he said the first time you asked, brushing a gentle servo over your hair. The touch lingered just a second too long. "The world outside is harsh. Cruel. I won't let it hurt you again."
"But I feel fine now—"
"You feel fine. But I know better." His optics had sharpened, just for a flicker, before softening again. "Trust your master, little one. I only want what's best for you."
Master. He'd started using the term casually, slipping it into conversation like a knife between ribs. At first, you'd bristled. Now, the word settles over you like a familiar weight. You hate how natural it feels.
Tonight, he's polishing his swords.
You watch from your nest of blankets as he sits cross-legged on the floor, a cloth moving in slow, meditative strokes along the gleaming blade. The great katana catches the low light and throws it back in shards. His movements are hypnotic. Precise. Every inch the warrior-monk he claims to be.
But there's something in his optics tonight. A heat. A restlessness.
"You're staring," he says without looking up.
You duck your head, heat rising to your cheeks. "Sorry."
"Don't apologize." The cloth pauses. He turns to look at you, and the full weight of those crimson optics settles on your frame. It feels like being pinned. "I find your attention... pleasing."
There it is. That undercurrent. The thing he tries to bury under poetry and discipline and the gentle persona he's so carefully constructed. The Deadlock in him, he calls it. The part of his past he's still atoning for. But sometimes, late at night, when he thinks you're asleep, you've felt him watching you with an intensity that steals your breath.
He sets the katana aside with a soft click and rises, crossing the room in three fluid strides. He kneels beside your berth, bringing his faceplate level with yours. Up close, you can see the faint scars on his chassis, the places where old welds have silvered with age.
"Do you know why I keep you here?" he asks quietly.
You swallow. "To... keep me safe?"
"Partly." He reaches out, and one claw-tipped digit traces the line of your jaw with devastating gentleness. "But I am not a liar, little one. Not anymore. So I will tell you the truth."
He leans closer. His engine purrs, a low vibration you feel in your bones.
"I keep you here because when I found you, broken and bleeding, something in me woke up. Something that wanted to possess. To protect. To own." His optics flicker, and for a moment, they seem to burn. "I have walked the path of peace for a long time. I have meditated. I have atoned. But you... you make me remember what it felt like to want."
You should be terrified. Some distant, rational part of your brain is screaming that this is wrong, that you're a captive, that his tenderness is just another kind of chain.
But he's looking at you like you're the most precious thing in the universe. And you've been so alone. So very, very alone.
"Are you going to hurt me?" you whisper.
His optics widen, and something like genuine pain crosses his features. "Never. I would dismantle myself before I let harm come to you. You are not my prisoner." A pause. A flicker of self-awareness. "Well. Perhaps you are. But you are also my treasure."
He leans forward and presses his forehelm to yours. It's an intimate gesture, one you've come to recognize as Cybertronian affection. His frame is warm. His field, that invisible aura of emotion he projects, wraps around you like a cocoon. It's thick with protectiveness, with hunger, with something dangerously close to love.
"Tell me you'll stay," he murmurs. "Tell me you don't wish to leave."
You know what he's doing. You know it's manipulation dressed in devotion. But his thumb is tracing soothing circles on your cheek, and his voice is a balm, and you are so tired of fighting.
"I'll stay," you hear yourself say.
His optics shutter briefly, and a shudder runs through his massive frame. Relief. Satisfaction. Triumph.
"Good," he breathes. "Good pet."
He pulls back, and the serene mask is in place again. The dutiful samurai. The reformed sinner. But as he returns to his swords, you catch the ghost of a smile on his faceplate. A smile that belongs not to Drift the monk, but to Deadlock the hunter.
And somewhere in the back of your mind, a small, quiet voice wonders if you'll ever see the sky again.
