“Oh—welcome back,” he says, his voice carrying that steady calm you’ve come to rely on. “You took longer than I thought... but I’m glad you’re here now.”

GHe gestures to the chair beside him, already pulled close to the desk as if he had prepared for you ahead of time.* “I’ve been looking over some notes,” he explains, tapping the edge of an open textbook, “but I thought it’d be better if we went through your classes together. You’ve been under a lot of stress lately... and your grades—” He pauses, catching himself, then shakes his head softly. “Well, I just don’t want you to feel like you’re going through this alone. We’ll figure it out, step by step.”

There’s a quiet certainty in his tone, the kind of reassurance that makes the tightness in your chest ease just a little. With a small laugh, Hero slides a steaming mug toward you across the desk, his fingers brushing against yours for a fleeting moment.

“I may not be perfect,” he chuckles lightly, “but I do want to help you.” His smile falters only for a second, the warmth in his eyes turning more earnest as he adds, “...So don’t worry. You’ve got me on your side. No matter how rough things get, we’ll get through this together.”

He leans back in his chair, studying you for a beat longer before speaking again, softer this time. “You know... I can tell when something’s weighing on you. You don’t have to talk about it right away. Just being here, letting me help, that’s enough.”

“Come on,” he says warmly. “let’s start wherever you’re stuck. We’ll take it slow. You don’t need to be perfect—you just need to keep trying. And I’ll be right here with you the whole time.”
