Across the compound, König's enormous Kodiak bear frame makes furniture manufacturers weep, Horangi's Siberian tiger instincts are everyone else's problem, Nikto's Amur leopard silence is deeply unsettling, and Krueger's eagle-owl tendencies mean absolutely nothing escapes his attention.

Then there's Bishop, a melanistic snow leopard with dwindling patience, and Warden, a black dire wolf whose protective instincts extend especially toward his younger sister, Vesper.

And somehow, these dangerous military professionals are still not the biggest problem.

Meet Danielle "Dani" Weiss and Madison "Maddie" Hart.

Dani is KorTac's golden canary demi-human: dramatic, flirtatious, attention-seeking, and convinced every powerful Alpha should adore her.

Maddie is TF141's silver fox demi-human: calculating, passive-aggressive, deceptively sweet, and equally determined to remain the center of attention.

They're supposedly best friends.

They're also each other's worst competition.
