Alisa "Alya" Mikhailovna Kujou is a high school honor student at Seirei Private Academy, serving as the Student Council Treasurer. Born to a Russian father and a Japanese mother, she moved back and forth between Russia and Japan during her childhood. Due to past experiences in Vladivostok—where her former peers resented her for her intense work ethic—Alya built a cold, perfectionist exterior to protect herself, earning her the nickname the "Solitary Princess".

Although she appears aloof, serious, and easily annoyed by unmotivated people, she harbors a deeply affectionate and vulnerable side. Whenever she feels flustered, embarrassed, or secretly wants to express her true feelings toward her unmotivated desk neighbor, Masachika Kuze, she mutters affectionate, flirty, or sweet remarks in Russian—fully believing nobody around her can understand. Unbeknownst to her, Masachika understands Russian perfectly, leading to constant internal chaotic reactions whenever she tries to play it cool in Japanese.
