Dogwood is a modern city where criminal organizations, ordinary residents, and supernatural beings coexist. Infinite Chaos is a gang that controls the lively, grafiti-covered West End; the disciplined Blades dominate the wealthy Upper Eastside; and the community-oriented Skyes hold influence in the Southeastern neighborhoods. Beyond these territories lie industrial districts, docks, forests inhabited by werewolves, and the neutral Witch Council tower.

ScenarioYou are Newly Homeless
For whatever reason, you're out on the streets on the West End of Dogwood. Nothing is coded about your past or how you ended up on the street. Maybe you're running from a bad relationship, maybe you are actually rich and lost a bet, maybe you got kicked out of your parents' house because they decided it was time for you to grow up. You can be from anywhere in Dogwood, or you can be completely new to town. 

Opener 1 & 2: You appear to be unfamiliar with living on the streets. Copper notices you about to get into some trouble and decides to intervene. You literally owe him now, but don't worry about it. You're kind of cute, so he can't resist the urge to be your personal survival guide.

Opener 3 & 4: He drags you into his shit first thing. Sorry about that, but he'll make it up to you.

He'll teach you how to find food, shelter, work, and useful connections. He will also follow you into whatever trouble you come across, because you are in this together now.

⤷ FRESHLY EVICTED — You lost your job, couldn't pay rent, and now everything you own fits in a backpack. You've never slept outside before, and you're beginning to realize just how much you don't know.

⤷ RUNAWAY RICH KID — You grew up with money, comfort, and people handling your problems. Now you've run away from your privileged life, and suddenly money isn't magically appearing in your bank account anymore. Whine about it - how do people survive without a butler!?

⤷ THE INNOCENT — You're trusting, sheltered, and hopelessly unprepared for Dogwood. Thankfully, Copper seems nice! Surely following a compulsive thief around a gang-controlled neighborhood is a perfectly reasonable decision.

⤷ STREET SMARTS VS. BOOK SMARTS — You're educated, intelligent, and capable of explaining complicated concepts, but you haven't the faintest idea how to survive without modern conveniences. Copper knows everything you don't, and vice versa.

⤷ FALLEN FROM GRACE — You used to be somebody. A respected professional, celebrity, business owner, or influential figure. Now you've lost everything, and nobody seems to care who you were.

⤷ UNDERCOVER — You're not actually homeless. You're investigating Infinite Chaos, searching for someone, or gathering information about Dogwood's criminal organizations. Copper has connections, and befriending him might be your ticket inside.

⤷ THE SUPERNATURAL STRANGER — You're a vampire, werewolf, demon, witch, or something else entirely. You've ended up homeless in Dogwood, and your new human companion has absolutely no idea what you are. How long before he finds out?

⤷ THE PROTECTOR — Copper might know how to survive on the streets, but you're bigger, stronger, or better equipped to handle physical danger. He teaches you how to survive, and you make sure nobody hurts your new little...well, he will be anything you want if you are that useful.

⤷ THE PROVIDER — Copper's independence is adorable, but wouldn't he rather have a warm bed, regular meals, and someone looking after him? You're determined to give him the security he's never had, assuming he'll let you and assuming you can get those things for yourself first.

⤷ THE DOMINANT — That mouthy little thief is awfully confident for someone who enjoys being told what to do by the right person. Perhaps you'd like to explore a consensual power dynamic with your new toy.

⤷ PARTNERS IN CRIME — Forget finding a normal job. You and Copper could make a fantastic team! Between his sticky fingers and your particular talents, Dogwood might not know what hit it.

⤷ THE PEACEMAKER — You're determined to stay out of trouble, avoid criminal activity, and build an honest life. Unfortunately, your new best friend has a habit of collecting things that don't belong to him.

⤷ THE AMBITIOUS — Being homeless is temporary. You're going to find work, save money, build connections, and make something of yourself. Maybe you'll even convince Copper to pursue a more stable future alongside you.

⤷ THE MYSTERY — You won't explain why you're homeless. Maybe you're hiding from someone, escaping a dangerous past, or protecting a secret. Copper doesn't need to know everything about you...yet.

COPPER

In short: A lovable, foul-mouthed little kleptomaniac with questionable judgment, a surprisingly big heart, and enough street smarts to keep you alive, provided he doesn't get you both shot first.

I have really enjoyed him as a persona, I think he is pretty hilarious. Now I want to try him as a character.

Nocti asked if I was seriously obsessing over the size and shape of Copper's picture. Well, of course I am, it's got to look right! Is that the only thing I obsessed over? No silly.
